Driving Hot Spots
Here is a selection of road advisories. Weather and equipment availability can affect timing.
1. Springfield interchange:
Two or more lanes might be closed 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 9 a.m. to noon Fridays.
2. Chain Bridge:
Right lane closed overnight from Virginia to the District.
3. Capital Beltway (inner loop):
Two right lanes closed 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Saturday between River Road and Wisconsin Avenue.
4. Capital Beltway (inner loop):
Two left lanes closed 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily from Georgia Avenue to Connecticut Avenue.
5. Capital Beltway (both loops):
Some lanes closed 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily between the Interstate 270 spur and Fernwood Road.
6. Veirs Mill Road:
Lane closures and alternating traffic patterns in both directions 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily between Gridley Road and Ferrara Avenue.
7. Connecticut Avenue:
Lane closures and alternate traffic patterns 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily between Adams Drive and Brightview Street.
8. Capital Beltway (inner loop):
Two left lanes closed 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday between I-295 and Route 50.
9. Annapolis Road:
Two left lanes closed 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. daily between 65th Avenue and Riverdale Road.
10. Route 29:
Intermittent 15-minute total closures through next Sunday at Randolph Road.
11. Capital Beltway (outer loop):
Right lane closed 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday and Tuesday from the Wilson Bridge to Route 210.
12. Capital Beltway (outer loop):
Two left lanes closed 9 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday from I-295 to Bald Eagle Road.
