MIE Starts on 4th Building

MIE Properties has begun construction of its fourth building at Ashburn Technology Park, an 82-acre business community off Waxpool Road and the Dulles Greenway near Washington Dulles International Airport.

The 54,120-square-foot building is scheduled to open by the end of the year. Ashburn Technology Park was built to accommodate 10 buildings totaling more than 650,000 square feet.

Builder Earns Recognition

Robert Lauten of Lauten Construction Co. in Purcellville has earned the Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) designation, identifying him as one of the building industry's top professionals with skills and knowledge specific to home modifications for aging-in-place.

The CAPS program, created by the Remodelors Council of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) in collaboration with the NAHB Research Center, NAHB Seniors Housing Council and the AARP, teaches the technical, business management and customer service skills essential to compete in the fastest-growing segment of the residential remodeling industry.

The CAPS designation identifies remodelers who have been trained to help retirees and older adults remain in the familiar environment of their homes safely, independently and comfortably, regardless of income or ability level.

CAPS program graduates are required to maintain their designation by attending continuing education programs and/or participating in community service projects.
