Veterinarian's Dog Impounded

Pennsylvania Ave. SE, 1200 block, May 25. Humane Society officers executed a search warrant at a veterinary hospital and impounded a boxer that allegedly was underweight and suffering from sores on its side and legs. The dog belonged to the veterinarian, according to the society. The case was under investigation.

2 Emaciated Dogs Surrendered

NEW YORK AVE. NE, 1200 block, May 21. Two emaciated pit bulls were surrendered to the D.C. shelter. They were taken to an animal hospital, where they ate and drank ravenously and were examined by a veterinarian. The case was under investigation.

Puppy Abuse Investigated

B ST. SE, 5500 block, June 1. A person reported that a pit bull puppy was being beaten. A Humane Society officer met with a man alleged to have been abusing the puppy. The man said he had gotten rid of the puppy but did not explain how. The society and police subsequently searched the

area for the dog, which was not found. The case was under investigation.
