The following organizations need volunteer help for a day, a week or on a regular basis.

LEC (Loisirs Culturels A l'Etranger), a Paris-based nonprofit cultural exchange program, needs host families in Northern Virginia for French students this summer. The family must provide room and board and friendship. Families will be paid $80 a week. The students will bring their own spending money and are covered by their own insurance program. Northern Virginia Community College Medical Education Campus needs family practice physicians and nurses (RNs, LPNs, CPNs, nurse practitioners), active or retired, to volunteer in the primary care clinic near Springfield Mall. Access Ministry, the disability ministry of McLean Bible Church for children and youth, needs volunteer camp counselors age 13 and older for the "Soaring Over Seven Summer Adventure Camp." The Assistance League of Northern Virginia, a volunteer service organization, will hold a meeting to inform community residents and prospective members about its service projects. The Fairfax County Park Authority needs volunteer teacher's aides for the adapted aquatics program. A training session is scheduled 1-6 p.m. June 19 at the Providence RECenter, 7525 Marc Dr., Falls Church. Volunteers age 16 or older will learn the basic skills needed to assist individuals with disabilities through hands-on pool work, a video and discussion.
