THEFTS/BREAK-INS

CONNECTICUT AVE., 8100 block, 11:30 p.m. May 23 to 3:30 a.m. May 24. Cash and a purse were stolen from a residence.

CONNECTICUT AVE., 9900 block, 8:15 a.m. to 12:35 p.m. May 20. Cash, bonds, a stamp collection, paintings, a jacket, a set of keys and a brass lock were stolen from a residence entered by breaking a door.

WOODMONT AVE., 8100 block, May 21 to 7 a.m. May 24. Cash was stolen from a business entered by breaking a door.

Germantown District

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

BELLEHAVEN BLVD., 10900 block, 2:30 p.m. May 13 to 12:30 p.m. May 16. Credit cards were stolen from a purse in a vehicle.

CHERRY BEND CT., 1 to 100 block, 11 a.m. to 10:15 p.m. May 22. A video game system and a flat screen monitor were stolen from a residence.

DAVID MILL RD., 22000 block, 3 p.m. May 19 to 4 p.m. May 22. Musical instruments and accessories, an amplifier, a CD recorder, tools and a tool set were stolen from a residence.

METZ DR., 18200 block, 7:30 a.m. to 2:25 p.m. May 21. A camera and a video game system were stolen from a residence.

THUNDERHEAD WAY, 20200 block, 10:10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. May 24. A TV, a DVD-VCR player, a video game system, a video camera and a pair of shoes were stolen from a residence.

CARRIAGE WALK CIR., 18600 block, 2:15 to 2:18 a.m. May 19. A residence was entered by breaking a window. Nothing was reported missing.

DARNESTOWN RD., 12200 block, 7:45 p.m. May 20 to 9:45 a.m. May 21. Cash was stolen from a business entered by forcing open a door.

GOODPORT LANE, 1 to 100 block, 1 to 2:45 p.m. May 18. A video game system was stolen.

KING JAMES WAY, 17000 block, May 19 or May 20. Cash was stolen from a residence.

LOST KNIFE CIR., 18400 block, 3:50 to 4:05 a.m. May 20. A residence was entered. Nothing was reported missing.

MAIN ST., 200 block, 8:15 p.m. May 20 to 8 a.m. May 21. Cash was stolen from a business entered by forcing open a door.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

QUINCE ORCHARD BLVD., 15800 block, 10 to 11 p.m. May 21. A school was entered by forcing open a door. Nothing was reported missing.

VILLAGE SQUARE TER., 12500 block, 11 p.m. May 20 to 11:50 p.m. May 22. A DVD player and a DVD were stolen from a residence entered by forcing open a window.

WICOMICO AVE., 5700 block, midnight May 10. Checks were stolen from a business entered through a window.

Silver Spring District

HOMICIDES

SLIGO AVE., 700 block, 4 p.m. May 21. Alexander Ventura, 3 months old, of the 4000 block of Crittenden St. in Hyattsville, died from a trauma to his head. A Silver Spring woman, 25, was charged with second-degree murder, child abuse and child abuse/custodian -- resulting in death.

ASSAULTS

TAHONA DR., 8300 block, 7:20 a.m. May 31. Two men attempted to rob a man, shot him on his right shoulder, then fled in a vehicle. The man, 33, of Silver Spring, was treated at an area hospital and released.

ROBBERIES

FLOWER AVE., 8700 block, 11:18 p.m. May 21. A male with a knife accosted a man withdrawing money at an ATM. The man, 47, of Silver Spring, ran to his vehicle, told his passenger to lock the doors, got in the vehicle and drove away.

OUTLET DR., 13800 block, 1:50 p.m. May 27. A man robbed a bank of cash at gunpoint.

RANDOLPH ROAD AND OLD COLUMBIA PIKE, 4:40 a.m. May 31. Two males accosted a Gaithersburg male motorist, 37, at a stop sign, got in the vehicle and forced the motorist to the passenger seat. One of the assailants drove the vehicle to Westfarm Technology Park, where the assailants forced the man out of the vehicle, assaulted him and robbed him of a wallet. The robbers then drove away in the vehicle.

WAYNE AVE., 900 block, 5:15 a.m. May 29. A male entered a construction site, grabbed a man, forced him to the ground, took his hammer and struck him in the head several times. Then the male attempted to take the man's wallet but fled when co-workers came to the site. The man, 23, of the District, was transported to a hospital where he was treated for injuries and released.

CASTLE BLVD., 13900 block, 4:15 to 6:30 p.m. May 18. A residence was entered by forcing a door. Nothing was reported missing.

FENTON STREET, 1:15 p.m. May 20 to 11:15 a.m. May 22. A computer system, a printer, DVDs, a game system and clothing were stolen from a business.

GEORGIA AVE., 9900 block, 3 p.m. May 21. Cash and jewelry were stolen from a residence.

HAMPSHIRE GREEN LANE, 1700 block, 6 a.m. May 21 to 11 a.m. May 22. A residence was entered. Nothing was reported missing.

LOCKWOOD DR., 11600 block, 6:34 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. May 21. A computer was stolen.

OLIVINE CT., 1900 block, 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 2. Cash, passports, airline tickets, a safety deposit box and clothing were stolen from a residence entered by forcing a window.

RANDOLPH RD., 600 block, 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. May 24. A residence was entered by breaking a window. Nothing was reported missing.

WAYNE AVE., 1100 block, 5:30 p.m. May 21 to 7:30 a.m. May 24. Computers were stolen from a business.

11TH AVE., 8500 block, 12:45 to 1:15 p.m. May 22. Cash and jewelry were stolen from a residence entered by forcing open a door.

Glenmont District

ASSAULTS

ELKIN STREET AND HICKERSON DRIVE, 10:09 p.m. May 25. A group of males accosted a man at gunpoint, and the man was ordered to give up cash. A shot was fired and the man, 31, of Wheaton, was transported to a local hospital and treated for a gunshot wound.

ROBBERIES

OLNEY-SANDY SPRING RD., 800 block, 9:20 p.m. May 27. A male kicked in the door of a residence and robbed a Sandy Spring man, 75, of cash, a cell phone and a set of car keys.

Rockville

ASSAULTS

PINEWOOD RD., 500 block. A Rockville man, 21, was charged May 29 with second-degree assault and failing to obey a lawful order in connection with an incident at the above location.

THORNDEN RD., 1100 block. A Rockville man, 40, was charged May 25 with second-degree assault in connection with an incident at the above location.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

CEDAR LANE, 300 block, 8 a.m. May 21 to 7:45 a.m. May 24. Ceramic statues were stolen from the front yard of a residence.

HUNGERFORD DR., 300 block, noon June 1. A leather truck belt, a flashlight, a tool and a rope bag were stolen.

LINDLEY TER., 2500 block, 10:15 a.m. to 3:20 p.m. May 26. A laptop computer, two rings, theater and athletic game tickets, a video game console, a DVD player and a wallet were stolen from a residence entered by forcing a garage door. Rooms were also ransacked.

MONTROSE RD., 6100 block, 7 to 9 p.m. May 24. A wallet was stolen from a locker.

NORTHRUP DR., 2600 block, 12:01 a.m. May 1 to 5 p.m. May 27. Bottles of alcoholic beverages were stolen from a garage.

PICCARD DR., 1800 block, 4:15 May 25 to 4:30 p.m. May 26. A refrigerator was stolen from a residence entered by forcing a door.

RESEARCH BLVD., 2500 block. A Laurel woman, 28, was charged May 26 with theft in connection with an incident at the above location.

ROCKVILLE PIKE, 1800 block, 4 to 8:35 a.m. May 28. A laptop computer was stolen from a business entered by forcing open a door.

ROCKVILLE PIKE, 800 block, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. May 28. A briefcase, a cell phone, a hand-held computer, a cell phone adapter, a checkbook and report cards were stolen from a vehicle.

ROCKVILLE PIKE, 800 block, 9:50 to 11:30 a.m. May 29. A purse was stolen from a locker.

SHADY GROVE RD., 14900 block, 4:53 p.m. May 31 to 11 a.m. June 1. Cash was stolen from a business entered by forcing open a door.

SHADY GROVE ROAD AND INTERSTATE 270. A Germantown man, 39, was charged May 31 with theft.

ELSON PL., 1200 block, 4 a.m. May 30. A man was charged with second-degree assault and disorderly conduct.

ROBBERIES

NEW HAMPSHIRE AVE., 6800 block, 7:34 p.m. June 3. A man in a business grabbed a cash register. A customer attempted to stop the man and after a brief struggle, the robber fled in a vehicle.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

AUBURN AVE., 700 block, 8 a.m. to 2:40 p.m. June 2. Property was stolen from a residence entered by breaking a window.

EASTERN AVE., 7000 block, 1:26 p.m. June 2. Two men entered a residence by breaking a window pane of a door. A resident came home, and the intruders fled. No injuries were reported, and nothing was reported missing.

PINEY BRANCH RD., 7600 block, 1:05 a.m. May 28. Two men and a woman were charged with first-degree burglary and trespassing.

NEW HAMPSHIRE AVE., 6800 block, 10:28 a.m. May 31. A man was charged with theft under $500, vandalism and fourth-degree burglary.

UNIVERSITY BLVD., 1100 block, 10:30 p.m. May 31. A woman was charged with theft under $500.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS

MAPLE AVE., 7700 block, 8 p.m. May 28 to 11:40 p.m. May 29. A 2002 Dodge Intrepid was stolen.

NEW HAMPSHIRE AVE., 7300 block, 8 p.m. June 1 to 5:30 a.m. June 2. A 2000 Ford Crown Victoria was stolen.
