The University of Maryland at College Park has extended the application deadline through June 21 for its Young Scholars Program. Open to high school juniors and seniors, the three-week summer program allows students to earn three college credits and experience what college life is like.

The program, scheduled July 11-30, offers courses in astronomy, technology, biology, engineering, politics, kinesiology and math. Beyond the classroom, students will participate in seminars and social events and take part in activities that include field trips to the Woodrow Wilson Bridge, U.S. Senate historians office, National Institute of Standards and Technology and Six Flags America.
