Ryan Murphy, Northern, Senior

Was second in the 1,600-meter run and third in the 3,200 at the 3A state meet. Won the 3,200 at the SMAC meet.

Courtney Knight, Lackey, Senior

Captured his first career 400-meter state title at the Maryland 3A meet. Was also second in the 100 and 200. Won SMAC and regional titles in the 400.

Travis Wray, La Plata, Junior

Was the SMAC champion in the 1,600, finished second in the 3,200 and third in the 800. Took third in the 1,600 at the 3A state meet.

Paul Travers, Patuxent, Senior

Won the 800 at the SMAC meet and was runner-up in the 1,600. Captured third in the 1,600 at the 4A state meet .

Steven Knight, Calvert, Senior

Easily won the 110-meter hurdles championship at the state meet in 14.34 seconds, almost seven-tenths of a second better than the rest of the competition.

Sean Thompson, McDonough, Senior

Rams' thrower was a double winner at the 3A state meet, capturing titles in the shot put and the discus. Won both events at the regional and SMAC meets.

Solomon Plater, Northern, Senior

Won the long jump and triple jump at the SMAC championships to provide some of the key points in the Patriots' team title.

Ivan Funcic, Northern, Senior

Captured the SMAC championship in the high jump (6 feet 2 inches). Also placed sixth in the state.

A.J. Wallace, McDonough, Senior

Was third in the 100 and 200 at the SMAC championships. Also took third in both races at the regional meet.

Corryl Boyd, Westlake, Freshman

Was second in the triple jump and third in the 400 at the SMAC meet. At the state meet, Boyd finished seventh in the 400.

Kyle Parker, Northern, Senior

Took second in the long jump and eighth in the triple jump at the 3A state meet. Was second in the SMAC in the long jump and third in the triple jump.
