New Store Supports

Habitat for Humanity

If you've always wanted to contribute to Habitat for Humanity but found the idea of building a home daunting, now you can give to the organization without breaking a sweat.

Tomorrow, Arundel Habitat for Humanity officially opens Renovation Station -- a store specializing in slightly used building materials, appliances and home furnishings.

The nonprofit organization, at 8101 Fort Smallwood Rd., Pasadena, sells donated materials to the public and gives proceeds to Arundel Habitat.

Renovation Station accepts donations of roofing materials, lumber, appliances, wooden furniture, electrical supplies, gardening tools and plumbing materials from contractors, retailers, builders and homeowners.

Donated items must be in new or almost new condition, and appliances should not be more than five years old. All materials must be clean and in working order. Hazardous materials, stuffed furniture, clothing, television sets, mirrors and glass are not accepted. Donated items are tax-deductible.

The store's grand opening will be from noon to 6 p.m. with a special ribbon cutting ceremony at 1 p.m. The store is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays. Donations can be dropped off from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays. For more information, call Renovation Station at 410-437-7755, Arundel Habitat at 410-384-9212 or visit
