Middleburg Makes Hire
Middleburg Bank has hired Courtney Quinlan as an assistant vice president-financial consultant for its Investment Services Department. Quinlan, a certified financial planner, has been a wealth management adviser in the private client divisions of investment services providers.
Leesburg BNI to Meet
The Leesburg Business Forum chapter of Business Network International will host a breakfast meeting from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. June 23 for businesses interested in professional networking opportunities. BNI is a business and professional networking organization whose primary purpose is to exchange qualified word-of-mouth business referrals. Savvis Taps Into Apptix
Savvis Communications Corp., whose headquarters are in Herndon, has launched new e-mail and collaboration services based on technologies from Apptix, a Sterling-based company. The new services enable businesses to deploy the latest Microsoft e-mail and document collaboration applications over the Web without purchasing, installing or managing hardware and software. The new services are delivered via the Internet as utility services, where business customers only pay for the services -- such as the number of e-mail boxes and features -- that they use.
Startup Lecture Planned
The Loudoun County Small Business Development Center will hold a seminar, "Start Your Business," from 6 to 8:30 p.m. next Thursday, Eastern Loudoun Regional Library, 21030 Whitfield Pl., Sterling.
