SCENERY PLACE AND STEVENSON DRIVE, 10:20 p.m. June 2. Police responded to a report of gunshots and discovered a Montgomery Village man, 21, was shot in the legs area at the above location. The man was taken to the hospital by a relative.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

FLAGSTONE DR., 17400 block, 8 a.m. to 2:42 p.m. May 26. Weapons and a video game system were stolen from a residence entered by forcing open a window.

HAZELNUT CT., 20600 block, 6 p.m. May 26 to 2:30 a.m. June 2. A video game system and games, clothing and a pair of shoes were stolen from a residence entered by breaking a window.

HUGHES RD., 17200 block, 7 a.m. to 7:55 p.m. May 26. Jewelry was stolen from a residence entered by forcing open a door.

ASSAULTS

GENTLE CIRCLE, May 27. A Gaithersburg resident, 14, was charged May 27 with first-degree assault and attempted second-degree murder in connection with an incident at the above location.

MIDCOUNTY HWY., 8200 block, May 20. A Gaithersburg resident, 13, was charged with first- and second-degree assault and carrying a deadly weapon on school property in connection with an incident at the above location.

QUINCE ORCHARD BLVD., 800 block, May 23. A Gaithersburg man, 26, was charged with first-degree assault in connection with an incident at the above location.

ROBBERIES

DIAMOND AVE. E., 400 block, May 30. A male in a service station grabbed money from an open register and fled.

DIAMOND E. AND SUMMIT N. AVENUES, 3 a.m. May 22. Several males got out of a vehicle and accosted a 22-year-old male motorist of Gaithersburg. One of the assailants broke the motorist's windshield with a baseball bat. The assailants fled in their vehicle and the man followed them to the Ridge Road area. After another confrontation, the man was robbed of a cell phone.

FREDERICK AVE. S., 1 to 100 block, 11:45 p.m. June 8. Two males robbed a Gaithersburg woman, 27, of her vehicle at knifepoint.

QUAIL VALLEY BLVD., 19000 block, 11 p.m. May 19. A male pushed a Gaithersburg woman, 28, grabbed her gym bag and fled in a vehicle.

QUINCE ORCHARD RD., 500 block, 6 a.m. June 1. A male robbed a store of cash at knifepoint.

RUSSELL AND ODENHAL AVENUES, 4:30 p.m. May 30. A male at a bus stop grabbed a purse from a Montgomery Village woman, 23.

STREAMSIDE PL., 8200 block, 12:08 a.m. May 24. Two males accosted a Gaithersburg woman, 42, and one of the males struck her on the back of the head with a blunt object, then robbed her of a purse. The woman was taken to a local hospital and treated for an injury.

WATKINS MILL ROAD AND TRAVIS LANE, 10:55 p.m. May 25. Two males got out of a vehicle and robbed a Montgomery Village man, 41, of cash at gunpoint. The robbers fled in a vehicle with other occupants.

WHISPERING OAK WAY, 8200 block, 2:50 a.m. May 21. A male wearing a mask and scarf in a parking lot robbed a Rockville man, 24, of cash at gunpoint, and a male accomplice demanded property from another man, but was unsuccessful. Both robbers fled.

ROBBERIES

VANDALIA DR., 15500 block, 1:50 a.m. June 2. Three males and a female demanded cash from a Potomac man, 46, and the man said he had none. Then one of the males hit the man with an aluminum bat on the face and they all fled from the area. The man was later transported to Montgomery General Hospital.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

CHISOLM LANDING WAY, 14700 block, May 24 to 5:30 p.m. May 28. Rugs were stolen from a residence.

CRABBS BRANCH WAY, 15700 block, 5 p.m. May 25 to 7:30 a.m. May 26. A business was entered by breaking a window. Nothing was reported missing.

GRAY COLT DR. S., 13800 block, 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. May 28. A residence was entered by forcing open a door. Nothing was reported missing.

HUNTING RIDGE CT., 11800 block, 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. June 1. A residence was entered. Nothing was reported missing.

ROBBERIES

COLESVILLE RD., 8300 block, May 22. A Chevy Chase man, 33, was charged May 22 with robbery, second-degree assault and reckless endangerment in connection with an incident at the above location.

FIRST AVE., 8700 block, 10:45 p.m. May 26. Two males got out of a vehicle and robbed at gunpoint a Silver Spring man, 29, of a shoulder bag containing cash.

GEORGIA AVE., 12400 block. Two Silver Spring men, ages 19 and 21, two Takoma Park men, both age 19, and a Wheaton man, 20, were charged May 20 with robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery in connection with an incident at the above location.

ROBEY TER., 3400 block, 10:40 p.m. June 1. A male robbed a pizza deliveryman of cash and fled with a female and a third person.

SAFFRON LANE, 9100 block, 11 p.m. May 24. Two males robbed at gunpoint a Silver Spring woman, 29, of a camera, a cell phone, a pair of earrings and a tote bag.

TAHONA DR., 8300 block, 7:15 a.m. May 31. Two males accosted a Silver Spring man, 32, in front of his home and demanded money. One of the males fired a BB gun at the man striking him several times and the second male fired a handgun striking the man on the shoulder, then both males fled in a vehicle. The man was transported to Medstar.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

BRIGGS CHANEY AREA, 12:30 a.m. June 3. Police recovered a vehicle at the above location, reported stolen May 31 from Randolph Road and Old Columbia Pike.

CASTLE BLVD., 13800 block, 7:05 a.m. May 24 to 7:35 p.m. May 28. Two video game systems and games were stolen from a residence entered by forcing open a door.

COTTRELL TER., 9600 block, 11 a.m. May 26. A Silver Spring and a Hyattsville resident, both age 15, were charged with auto theft, theft over $500, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, attempted auto theft, theft under $500 and conspiracy in connection with incidents that occurred between May 17 and May 26 in the Wheaton and Silver Spring areas.

DILSTON RD., 1400 block, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 28. Two video game systems and games were stolen from a residence entered by forcing open a door.

LOCKWOOD DR., 11600 block, 1:23 to 1:25 p.m. May 28. A residence was entered by breaking a door. Nothing was reported missing.

PINEY BRANCH RD., 7900 block, 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. May 25. Cash was stolen from a residence entered by breaking a window.

ROGART RD., 10000 block, 9:30 to 10:17 p.m. May 26. An attempt was made to enter a residence by breaking a window.

SUTHERLAND RD., 9600 block, 8:30 p.m. May 23 to 11 a.m. May 26. A residence was entered by forcing open a door. Nothing was reported missing.

SWINGINGDALE DR., 1200 block, May 27. A Silver Spring resident, 16, was charged with second-degree burglary, theft under $500, destruction of property and fleeing and eluding in connection with an incident at the above location.

UNIVERSITY BLVD. E., 1 to 100 block, 5:57 to 6:01 p.m. May 31. A school was entered. Nothing was reported missing.

Wheaton/Glenmont District

HOMICIDES

VALLEYFIELD DR., 14000 block, 11:05 p.m. June 4. Police officers to a report of a fight and found Malik McCoy, 16, of Chesterwood Drive, Silver Spring, unconscious outside an apartment building. McCoy was transported to Montgomery General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma to the head.

SEXUAL ASSAULTS

UNIVERSITY BOULEVARD AND ARCOLA AVENUE, 6:30 p.m. May 28. A male sexually assaulted a Silver Spring woman, 38, at knifepoint.

ASSAULTS

GEORGIA AND ARCOLA AVENUES, May 22. A Hyattsville man, 18, was charged May 22 with driving under the influence, driving while impaired, failure to stop at an accident, first-degree assault and wearing a dangerous weapon in connection with an incident at this location.

NEW HAMPSHIRE AVE., 18300 block. A Wheaton man, 38, was charged May 23 with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, reckless endangerment, discharging a firearm within an urban area, resisting arrest and destruction of property in connection with an incident at the above location.

ROBBERIES

AMHERST AVENUE AND ELKIN STREET, 4:30 p.m. May 27. A vehicle occupied by three males and a small child pulled up next to a 12-year-old Wheaton pedestrian and three other youths, and the front seat passenger got out and robbed the pedestrian of shoes at knifepoint.

BROOKE RD., 18500 block, 1:55 p.m. May 23. Two males pushed a Hyattsville man, 25, into the bushes and grabbed his wallet. One of the robbers bit the man on the forearm and the man struck the assailant in the face. Both robbers then fled.

ELKIN STREET AND HICKERSON DRIVE, 10:09 p.m. May 25. Several males accosted a Silver Spring man, 31, and the man was ordered to give them cash. One of the assailants fired a shot striking the man in the torso. The robbers fled and the man was transported to a local hospital.

GEORGIA AVE., 11900 block, 9 a.m. June 3. A male robbed a video store of cash at gunpoint.

GUILDBERRY DR., 18400 block, 11:15 p.m. May 31. Four males robbed at gunpoint a Gaithersburg man, 42, and a Gaithersburg woman, 50, of cash and a cell phone.

HAMPTON POINT DR., 3300 block, 11:50 p.m. June 1. Two males robbed at gunpoint a Silver Spring man, 25, of a wallet, a backpack, a cell phone and DVDs.

KEMP MILL SHOPPING CENTER FOOT PATH, 4:30 p.m. May 21. A group of people attempted to rob a Silver Spring woman, 73, of a purse, but fled when another person approached.

UNIVERSITY BLVD., 1100 block, 10:45 p.m. May 27. Two masked juveniles accosted a Wheaton woman, 24, and one of the juveniles punched her in the face and grabbed her purse. After a struggle, the juveniles fled empty-handed.

VEIRS MILL RD., 11100 block, 5 p.m. May 22. A male grabbed the purse of a Kensington woman, 53, from behind and the woman turned around and kicked the assailant. The robber hit the woman and fled with the purse.

AMBERLEIGH DR., 100 block, 11 p.m. May 25 to 6 a.m. May 26. Bicycle equipment was stolen from a garage.

ANTIETAM CT., 14600 block, 9 p.m. May 19 to 8 a.m. May 20. A purse and a wallet were stolen from a vehicle in a garage.

ARCTIC AVE., 14300 block, 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. May 26. A video game system and jewelry were stolen from a residence.

CONGRESSIONAL LANE, 200 block, 9 to 11 p.m. May 30. A suitcase, a floor fan, binoculars and a set of towels were stolen from a storage room.

EDMONSTON DR., 600 block, 3:35 to 3:45 p.m. June 2. A donation box containing cash was stolen.

FREDERICK RD., 15100 block, 8:30 p.m. June 5 to 11 a.m. June 6. Statues were stolen from a business entered by breaking a window.

JEFFERSON ST. E., 600 block, 12:40 to 1:40 p.m. June 3. A wallet was stolen from an untended purse.

A Silver Spring man, 28, was charged June 2 with theft and credit card fraud in connection with an incident at the above Rockville Pike location in Rockville. He was also charged with theft in connection with an incident at the above Connecticut Avenue location in Chevy Chase.

SHADY GROVE RD., 14900 block, 4 to 6 a.m. June 1. A business was entered. Nothing was reported missing.

VEIRS MILL RD., 2100 block, 4:10 a.m. June 5. An attempt was made to enter a business by breaking a wall with a crowbar.
