* All-Met defender named Cardinal District and Northwestern Region player of the year.

* Experienced play helped young team claim district and region tournament titles. Scored three goals and had two assists.

* Will play for the University of Kentucky.

Coach of the Year

Michelle McDonald, Gar-Field

* Cardinal District and Northwestern Region coach of the year led one of the area's biggest turnarounds, from 1-11 in 2003 to 12-6-2 this season.

* Led Indians to their first district and region championships since 1993 and their first Virginia AAA appearance in her eight years as coach.

First Team

GK Lauren Fenner, Osbourn, Jr. -- Second-team All-Met posted seven shutouts to help Eagles win Cedar Run District regular season title.

D Ashleigh Blumer, Forest Park, Jr. -- One of the Bruins' most athletic players had a pivotal role in pushing the attack forward.

D Lindsey DiLuzio, Forest Park, Sr. -- All-Met and all-Northwestern Region pick helped lead the Bruins to the Cardinal District regular season title. Will play at East Carolina University.

MF Kendall Irby, Gar-Field, Soph. -- All-Northwestern Region pick scored 10 goals and added seven assists to spark the Indians' young midfield.

MF Becca Mumley, Woodbridge, Sr. -- Second-team All-Met scored six goals and had eight assists to help the Vikings finish 8-8 after a 1-5 start. Will play at Marshall University.

MF Jill Porto, Potomac, Sr. -- All-Northwestern Region selection used her speed and skill to work as the focal point of the Panthers' attack. Will play for University of Alabama-Birmingham.

F Caly Cassady, Brentsville, Soph. -- Scored 28 goals to lead Tigers to Region II semifinals in school's first season at Virginia AA. Has scored 50 goals in her first two seasons.

F Bridgit Cooley, Seton, Sr. -- Four-time All-Extra scored 50 goals, surpassing the combined total of the other teams in the Delaney Athletic Conference. Will play for Virginia Commonwealth University.

F Steph Hair, Brentsville, Soph. -- Clever, speedy player had 18 goals, 10 assists to help the Tigers claim the AA Northwestern District tournament title.

F Janna Pearson, Stonewall Jackson, Jr. -- Repeat All-Extra scored 13 goals to lead Raiders to Cedar Run tournament title and region semifinals. Cedar Run District player of the year, all-region and second-team All-Met.

F Jenny Racine, Osbourn, Jr. -- Scored team-leading 10 goals to lift Eagles to their second straight Cedar Run District regular season title.
