Memorial Garden

A flower garden at Waters Landing Elementary School in Germantown was dedicated Monday in memory of former student Luis Ruiz, who died while playing soccer last month at the Maryland SoccerPlex in Germantown. The Luis Ruiz Memorial Garden features a park bench and plaque and was designed by students, parents and staff members. A medical examiner's report released by police said that Ruiz, 11, had cardiac arrhythmia, or an irregular heartbeat, and an "anomalous coronary artery."
