Carol Miller, Mary Powell and Mark Sylce recently received a "People Who Care" award from North Arundel Hospital for their work and promotion of the hospital in their communities. Miller, of Glen Burnie, is a therapist in the hospital's respiratory care department. Powell, of Pasadena, is a supervisor in the hospital's nutritional services department. Sylce, of Glen Burnie, makes and distributes keys for the hospital's facilities engineering department. Candidates for the award must be employed by the hospital for at least a year. They are nominated by co-workers. Miller, Powell and Sylce received certificates of appreciation, gift checks, pins and reserved parking spaces.

Richard Ullery of Glen Burnie recently received the Beverly Kuethe Ambassador of the Year award for volunteering his time to promote North Arundel Hospital in his community. Ullery, a respiratory therapist at North Arundel since 1995, represents the hospital at health fairs and senior centers and works at Camp Airways, a summer camp held each year for children with asthma.
