Movies Under the Moon Series

Cox Communications Northern Virginia will host its second annual Movies Under the Moon series July 16-24 at George Mason University's Robinson Field.

The event benefits Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children and Special Love/Camp Fantastic.

The movies, which are free, will begin each night about 8:30. Spectators are encouraged to bring a blanket and low beach chairs. Food can be purchased from onsite restaurants, which will support the charities. The vendors include Red, Hot & Blue, Domino's Pizza and Baja Fresh.

The schedule is:

* July 16, "Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over" (free 3-D glasses for the first 7,500 attendees)

* July 17, "Seabiscuit"

* July 18, "Jurassic Park"

* July 19, "Casablanca"

* July 20, "Men in Black"

* July 21, "The Wizard of Oz"

* July 22, "Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King"

* July 23, "Ghostbusters"

* July 24, "Spider-Man"

Exhibit of Magruder Works

Local artist and teacher Angie Magruder will exhibit her works July 7-Aug. 1 at the Reston Community Center at Lake Anne.

The show will feature landscapes, still lifes and floral paintings in watercolor, pen and ink and mixed media.

An artist's reception will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. July 18 at the Jo Ann Rose Gallery. Magruder has been active in a variety of local art programs and teaches at the Reston Community Center.
