ART Fare Increases

Arlington Transit (ART) fares will increase Sunday to coincide with increases in Metrobus fares. ART fares will rise to $1.25 for regular fares and to 60 cents for seniors and persons with disabilities, the same as the Metrobus increases.

Other systems in the region, including Fairfax Connector, Virginia Railway Express (VRE) and Ride On (Montgomery County), also have proposed fare increases.

The following discounts will remain for ART customers:

* 35-cent fare with Metrorail transfer (available at Metrorail boarding station).

* Free ride with valid Metrorail Flash Pass.

* Free ride with a valid Metrobus transfer.

* ART 90 Crystal City rush hour service remains 50 cents. (However, beginning July 1, VRE passengers who transfer to ART 90 will be required to pay the full fare of 50 cents. VRE will no longer subsidize ART 90 fares.)
