Glenn Dale United Methodist Church starts its summer schedule Sunday. The regular 9 a.m. Sunday school classes will take a two-month vacation, resuming on "Rally Day," Sept. 12. Trinity Episcopal Church in Upper Marlboro is hosting a golf tournament to raise money for the construction of a handicap ramp at its historic building. The "scramble" format event is open to players of all abilities. Placement and door prizes will be awarded. A special hole-in-one contest is open to all who register. Bowie Unitarian Universalist Fellowship is pleased to announce that, after years of worshiping in rented locations, it has purchased a permanent meeting place. The first service in the new location, themed "Celebrating Our New Home," will start at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. Turner Memorial AME Church invites everyone to attend the Mozella J. Preston Scholarship Concert at 3 p.m. Sunday. The choirs of Turner Memorial will join the African Methodist Episcopal Church Washington Conference Choir in a performance of anthems, traditional hymns, spirituals and gospel works.
