The Reston Festival at the Reston Town Center on July 10 and 11 needs volunteers for setup, break-down, the children's activities area, food and T-shirt sales, the information booth and more. The SPCA of Northern Virginia needs foster homes for dogs and cats. The SPCA does not have a shelter and depends on foster homes for animals that have been rescued from abuse, neglect or abandonment. For more information, call 703-799-9390 or visit www.spcanova.org.
LEC, a Paris-based nonprofit cultural exchange program, needs host families in Northern Virginia for French exchange students this summer. The family must provide room, board and friendship and will receive a weekly stipend. The students will bring spending money and are covered by their own insurance program. The Reston Association needs volunteers for its Weed Warriors program 10 a.m.-noon June 26 at the Bright Pond cul-de-sac. Volunteers will remove invasive exotic plants and plant wildflower seeds and tree seedlings to restore the site. Volunteers must be 14 or older.
