Arrests in killing: Two Suitland men were arrested on Long Island and charged with murder in a homicide that occurred in Suitland in May, Prince George's County police said.

Police said Mario Ayala, 20, of the 4800 block of Huron Avenue, and Everec Alvarez-Chacon, 27, of the 3400 block of Silver Hill Road, were arrested Wednesday in Port Washington, N.Y., on warrants in the killing of Ashley Antonio Urias, 38, of Silver Spring. He was found May 21 with a wound to his upper body in the 4100 block of Suitland Road, police said.


Carjacking arrest: Three people detained a 40-year-old Waynesboro man who punched a woman in the face outside a Fairfax County restaurant Thursday evening and tried to steal her car, Fairfax County police said.

Police said the 55-year-old Woodbridge woman pulled into the Ruby Tuesday in the 14200 block of Lee Highway in Centreville about 5:50 p.m. and was approached by the man, who punched her and tried to take her purse. The woman's 34-year-old son, who was meeting her for dinner, and two restaurant employees heard the woman screaming and went to her aid, police said.

Police said the attacker entered the woman's car and tried to find her keys but was stopped by the trio until police arrived. Gregory S. McMillion, of the 300 block of Commerce Avenue, was charged with carjacking and robbery, police said.
