Driving Hot Spots

Here is a selection of road advisories. Weather and equipment availability can affect timing.

1. Springfield interchange:

Two or more lanes might be closed from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, and from 9 a.m. to noon Fridays.

2. Burke Lake Road:

Road closed through Sept. 5 between Windward and Wilmington drives.

3. Chain Bridge:

Right lane closed overnight from Virginia to the District.

4. Capital Beltway (inner loop):

Two right lanes closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. daily between River Road and Wisconsin Avenue.

5. Capital Beltway (inner loop):

Two left lanes closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily from Georgia Avenue to Connecticut Avenue.

6. Capital Beltway (both loops):

Some lanes closed from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily between the Interstate 270 spur and Fernwood Road.

7. Veirs Mill Road:

Lane closures and alternating traffic patterns in both directions from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily between Gridley Road and Ferrara Avenue.

8. Connecticut Avenue:

Lane closures and alternating traffic patterns from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily between Adams Drive and Brightview Street.

9. Capital Beltway (inner loop):

Two left lanes closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday from Forestville Road to Suitland Road.

10. Capital Beltway (outer loop):

Three left lanes closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday between Allentown Road and Route 4.

11. Route 210 North:

Closing alternating lanes from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday on exit to I-295 north.

12. Capital Beltway (inner loop):

Two left lanes closed from 9 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday and from 9 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday from I-295 to Livingston Road.

13. Capital Beltway (outer loop):

Two left lanes closed from 9 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday and from 9 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday from the Wilson Bridge to Bald Eagle Road.
