THEFTS/BREAK-INS

NORFOLK AVE., 7900 block, 6 p.m. June 9 to 9 a.m. June 10. A computer was stolen from a business entered by forcing open a door.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

FREDERICK RD., 24000 block, 7 a.m. June 14. Tools were stolen from a construction trailer entered by forcing open a door.

PAPRIKA CT., 18700 block, noon June 9. A computer was stolen from a residence.

Gaithersburg District

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

AMITY DR., 17100 block, 3 p.m. May 10 to 5 p.m. June 9. Bicycles were stolen from a shed.

LEATHERLEAF CT., 1 to 100 block, June 12. A Gaithersburg man, 44, was charged with first-degree burglary and malicious destruction of property.

VANDERBILT CIR., 10000 block, 8:30 p.m. June 11 to 10:30 a.m. June 12. A stereo was stolen from a business.

WELBECK WAY, 8800 block, 1:30 to 6:30 p.m. June 12. Cash was stolen from a residence.

Rockville District

ASSAULTS

GUDE DRIVE E. AND SOUTHLAWN LANE, 5 a.m. June 19. Two men entered a store and one of the men shot a male employee several times and robbed the register of cash. The employee, 23, was taken to a local hospital.

NICHOLSON LANE, 4900, June 9. A Gaithersburg man, 37, was charged June 10 with fourth-degree sex offense in connection with an incident at the above location.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

DEWEY RD., 12300 block, 7:30 a.m. June 6 to 10:30 a.m. June 11. A residence was entered by breaking a window. Nothing was reported missing.

GARRETT PARK RD., 4100 block, 8:40 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. June 11. A garage was entered by breaking a door. Nothing was reported missing.

JENNINGS ROAD, June 11. Two Rockville residents, ages 13 and 14, were charged June 11 with first-, third- and fourth-degree burglary, possession of burglary tools and theft under $500 in connection with an incident at the above location.

PARKLAWN DR., 12200 block, 3 a.m. to 3:15 a.m. June 13. A business was entered by breaking a window. Nothing was reported missing.

VILLAGE SQUARE TER., 12400 block, 7:10 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. June 11. A suitcase and DVDs were stolen from a residence entered by forcing open a door.

ASSAULTS

CASTLE BLVD., 13800 block, June 6. A man, 24, of no fixed address, was charged June 6, with first- and second-degree assault, possession of a drug and drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest in connection with an incident at the above location.

ROBBERIES

FENTON ST., 7700 block, 10:33 p.m. June 11. A passenger in a vehicle got out and robbed a District woman, 22, of a purse at knifepoint.

GILBERT PL., 700 block, 5:50 a.m. June 11. A man accosted a Silver Spring woman, 37, punched her in the face and robbed her of a purse.

PINEY BRANCH RD., 9100 block, 10:10 p.m. June 11. A male robbed at gunpoint a Silver Spring man, 25, of a cell phone, a set of keys and a pizza.

UNIVERSITY BLVD., 100 block, 2:27 p.m. June 22. A man in a bank passed a note to a teller, implied he was armed with a gun and robbed the bank of cash.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

COLESVILLE RD., 10000 block, 5:15 p.m. June 7 to 7:45 a.m. June 8. Cash and stamps were stolen from a business.

GALVESTON RD., 8400 block, 10 p.m. June 10 to 2 p.m. June 11. A bicycle was stolen from a garage.

GILBERT PL., 8700 block, 1 to 6 p.m. June 10. Cash, a VCR and jewelry were stolen from a residence.

SPRINGVALE RD., 8500 block, 9:45 a.m. June 9. Cash was stolen from a residence entered by forcing open a door.

Wheaton/Glenmont District

HOMICIDES

VALLEYFIELD DR., 11:05 p.m. June 4. A Silver Spring man, 22, was charged June 17 with second-degree murder, second-degree assault and conspiracy to commit first-degree assault in connection with the June 4 beating death of Malik McCoy, 16, of Silver Spring, which occurred at the Valleyfield Drive location. A Germantown man, 19, and two Silver Spring juveniles, 16 and 17, had also been charged in the incident.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

GEORGIA AVE., 16600 block, May 30 to June 10. A Rockville man was charged June 10 with theft over $500, theft under $500 and unauthorized use of credit cards in connection with several incidents at the above location.

GLENMONT CIR., 2300 block, midnight June 9 to 11:59 p.m. June 11. An apartment was entered by forcing open a window. Nothing was reported missing.

LAMBERTON DR., 1200 block, 5:30 p.m. June 10 to 6:43 a.m. June 11. Cash was stolen from a business.

SANDY RIDGE RD., 14600 block, 6:45 a.m. June 12 to 10:35 p.m. June 13. A handgun, cash and a backpack were stolen from a residence entered by breaking a window.

TORRENCE ROAD, June 11. Two Rockville juveniles, ages 13 and 14, were charged June 11 with first-, third- and fourth-degree burglary, possession of burglary tools and theft under $500 in connection with an incident at the above location.

WELLER RD., 3300 block, 8:55 p.m. June 8. A cell phone was stolen from a school entered by forcing open a window.

GAITHER RD., 1000 block, 3:45 p.m. June 17 to 7 a.m. June 18. A refrigerator was stolen from a residence entered by kicking open a front door.

GAITHER RD., 1000 block, 3:45 p.m. June 17 to 7 a.m. June 18. A refrigerator was stolen from a residence entered by breaking a window.

MARTINS LANE, 300 block, 5:30 to 6:05 p.m. June 15. A purse was stolen from a bench.

ROCKVILLE PIKE, 1700 block, 12:25 to 12:35 p.m. June 18. A digital projector was stolen from a conference room

ROLLINS AVE., 200 block, 7 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. June 15. Cash, a laptop computer, a watch and jewelry were stolen from a residence.

SOUTHLAWN CT., 1 to 100 block, 8 to 9 p.m. June 13. Property was stolen.

TOWER OAKS BLVD., 2600 block, 6 p.m. June 11 to 6:30 a.m. June 14. Four laptop computers were stolen from offices entered by forcing open doors.

Takoma Park

ROBBERIES

EASTERN AVE., 8600 block, 1:44 a.m. June 19. A man got out of a car, grabbed a female pedestrian, struggled with her and forced her to the ground. He grabbed a bag from her and fled in the vehicle, a maroon four-door car. The pedestrian was injured.

MAPLE AVE., 7700 block, 9:34 a.m. June 24. Two men jumped out of a car, grabbed a male at a bus stop and took a wallet from his pocket. The robbers fled in the vehicle, a light blue Toyota Camry. No injuries were reported.

MAPLE AVE., 7100 block, 1:44 a.m. June 25. Four males accosted a male pedestrian who was using a cell phone, demanded money, punched the pedestrian several times, then took his wallet and fled on foot. The pedestrian reportedly refused medical treatment.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

ETHAN ALLEN AVE., 600 block, 6:50 a.m. and 3:50 p.m. June 21. Windows of a residence were broken, and a front door was damaged. Nothing was reported missing.

FLOWER AVE., 8200 block, 7 a.m. June 19 to 2 p.m. June 20. A residence was entered and property was stolen.

TULIP AND MAPLE AVENUES, 10:45 a.m. June 20. Three boys entered vehicles and removed property. Three boys were arrested and charged with fourth-degree burglary and theft under $500.

UNIVERSITY BLVD., 1000 block, 5 p.m. June 22 to 10:45 a.m. June 23. Property was stolen from a residence entered by forcing open a door.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS

NEW HAMPSHIRE AVE., 7300 block, 11 p.m. June 19 to 10 a.m. June 29. A 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee was stolen.

VANDALISM

GRANT AVE., 200 to 300 block, 7:30 p.m. June 17 to 8:30 a.m. June 18. Tires of seven vehicles were slashed. One of the vehicles had scratches on the driver's door and hood.
