See, and Talk About, 'Fahrenheit 9/11'

Tonight, the Cinema Arts Theatre in Fairfax will host a discussion of the Michael Moore film "Fahrenheit 9/11" after the 7:40 p.m. screening.

Richard Rubenstein, director of George Mason University's Center for Conflict Analysis and Resolution, will host the screening and lead the discussion. Rubenstein also hosted a similar event after "The Passion of the Christ" opened in February.

The 10:10 p.m. screening of Fahrenheit 9/11 for tonight has been canceled, allowing time for the discussion. The theater is at 9650 Main St., in the Fair City Mall next to Marshall's.

Reston Marks 40th at Annual Festival

The annual Reston Festival will be held Saturday and Sunday at Reston Town Center, featuring a 40th birthday tribute to the planned community in addition to the usual food, entertainment, arts and crafts exhibitors, and business and organization booths.

Reston founder Robert E. Simon will be on hand for a birthday cake-cutting ceremony at 2:15 p.m. Saturday on the main stage.

The featured musical group Saturday night will be the J Street Jumpers, a swing band that performs classics from the 1930s, '40s and '50s. Blues singer Shemekia Copeland heads Sunday's musical acts.

There will be a kid's stage, raffle and food from area restaurants. Hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.

Cast a Vote for Best Photograph

The League of Reston Artists annual judged photography exhibition will be featured throughout July at the U.S. Geological Survey.

The exhibition, which includes the work of area photographers is open from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. weekdays through July 31.

A reception and awards ceremony will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Visitors can vote for their favorite photograph. The winner will receive the League of Reston Artists' People's Choice Award.
