Live at Lake Elkhorn

A free outdoor concert series is being held this month at Lake Elkhorn in Columbia. This week, BanjerDan, a banjo and multi-instrument performer, plays bluegrass. Next week, children's music will be performed by Milkshake; and the week after that, Big Blow and the Bushwackers will perform international music. Sponsored by the Kings Contrivance, Long Reach, Oakland Mills and Owen Brown community associations. 7 p.m. Tuesdays through this month. Lake Elkhorn Gazebo, Broken Land Parkway, Columbia. Bastille Day With the BSO

Celebrate Bastille Day on Wednesday with a wine-tasting and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. The evening begins at 5:30 with a taste of French vintages and live music, followed by a concert at 7 with performances of Maurice Ravel's "Le Tombeau de Couperin" and Georges Bizet's "Carmen, Suite No. 1." Pieces by Francois Couperin, Claude Debussy, Camille Saint-Saens and Darius Milhaud are also on the program. Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, 1212 Cathedral St., Baltimore.
