The name of one D.C. school valedictorian was listed incorrectly in the July 8 edition of the District Extra. Andrew Karlin is the 2004 valedictorian of St. Albans School. (Published 7/15/04)

These students were named valedictorians of their high schools at the end of the school year. Public and private schools that are not listed do not select valedictorians or chose not to provide the information. Traditionally, the valedictorian is the student who has the highest grade-point average and delivers a farewell speech at graduation. However, many schools now select multiple valedictorians. The information was compiled by editorial aides Carrie Donovan and Timothy Wilson.
