Loretta Haring of Churchton and Bruce White, Kimberly Hardesty and William Thompson of Arnold were recently elected to one-year terms as officers of the Volunteer Center for Anne Arundel County's board of directors. Haring, managing editor of the Capital newspaper, was elected president. White, a vice president of TeleCommunication Systems Inc., is board vice president. Hardesty, a funeral director with Hardesty Funeral Home, is secretary, and Thompson, a financial adviser with Raymond James Financial Services, is treasurer. The following board members were re-elected: Mike Davison of Edgewater, Cathy Doyle of Baltimore, Sharon Ledbetter of Annapolis and Peggy Morgan of Millersville. The Volunteer Center is a nonprofit organization that matches volunteers with community agencies throughout Anne Arundel County.

David Michelman of Severna Park, Gary Beach of Edgewater, Carolyn O'Leary of Millersville and Jerry Klasmeier of Crownsville were recently elected officers of the Providence Center board of directors. Michelman will serve as president, Beach as vice president, O'Leary as treasurer and Klasmeier as secretary. The center provides services to people with developmental disabilities.
