ASSAULTS

PREAKNESS DRIVE AND SHOW PONY LANE, 4 p.m. June 22. Two males, one armed with a knife, got out of a vehicle and threatened a male motorist, 38, of Clarksburg. The man said he was calling the police and the assailants fled in their vehicle.

RIDGE RD., 27600 block, June 30. A man threatened a Damascus man, 38, with a shotgun. A Rocky Ridge man, 43, was charged with first- and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment in connection with the incident.

ROBBERIES

BAYLEAF WAY, 18500 block, 11:15 p.m. June 27. Four males punched and kicked a Gaithersburg man, 35, and robbed him of a pair of boots.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

CABANA DR., 20400 block, 2:30 p.m. June 25 to 11:30 p.m. June 27. Jewelry was stolen from a residence.

EAGLE'S NEST CT., 22000 block, 8 p.m. June 26 to 11:30 a.m. June 27. An attempt was made to enter a residence by breaking a window.

INDECENT EXPOSURE

MONTGOMERY VILLAGE MALL, 4:30 p.m. June 23. A male exposed himself to two men in a bathroom. The male was issued a trespass notice by mall security.

OBSERVATORY HEIGHTS AREA, 4:50 p.m. June 24. A boy fondled a Gaithersburg girl, 14, and fled after she shouted.

ASSAULTS

RUSSELL AND ODENDHAL AVENUES, June 28. A Montgomery Village woman, 26, was charged June 28 with first- and second-degree assault, destruction of property, theft over $500, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, motor vehicle theft and traffic charges in connection with an incident at the above location.

SUMMIT AVE. N., 300 block, July 3. A Gaithersburg man, 39, was charged July 3 with first- and second-degree assault and carrying a dangerous weapon in connection with an incident at the above location.

ROBBERIES

BRASSIE WAY, 19500 block, 7:25 p.m. June 30. Two males punched a Montgomery Village man, 20, and robbed him of a wallet.

HEWITT AVE., 3200 block, 3:50 p.m. June 28. A male punched a deliveryman, forced him down and robbed him of a wallet and food.

NIKE MISSILE PARK, 10 p.m. June 18. A person struck a Gaithersburg man, 35, rendering him unconscious and robbed him of a wallet and a cell phone.

QUINCE ORCHARD BLVD., 800 block, 7:40 a.m. June 29. A man walked behind a Gaithersburg woman, 51, attempted to cut her purse strap with a knife, but also cut the woman's arm, and fled from the scene. The woman was transported to a local hospital and treated for her injury.

WALKERS CHOICE RD., 18600 block, 9:50 p.m. June 27. Two boys, one armed with a gun, robbed a Montgomery Village woman, 27, of a purse and a cell phone.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

BROADWATER WAY, 19100 block, 11 p.m. June 18 to 6 a.m. June 19. Bicycles were stolen from a shed.

CRABBS BRANCH WAY, 16800 block, 7:33 to 7:45 p.m. June 24. Cash was stolen from a business.

DEER PARK LANE W., 100 block, 8:45 a.m. to 10 p.m. June 22. DVD players and a VCR were stolen from a residence.

PEEPING TOM INCIDENTS

LAKEFOREST MALL, 2:45 p.m. June 27. A man in a dressing room of a department store looked through a dressing-room curtain and ran when a Gaithersburg woman, 30, saw him.

ROLLING GREEN WAY AND SOFT WIND DRIVE, 2:50 p.m. June 24. A North Potomac man, 19, was charged June 24 with first-degree assault.

BARKWOOD CT., 1 to 100 block, June 23. Cash, a video game system and games, and a DVD player were stolen from a residence entered by forcing a door.

ASSAULTS

PINEY BRANCH ROAD AND FLOWER AVENUE, June 23. Three males chased a Silver Spring boy, 16, and one of the assailants stabbed the boy with a knife, then all three fled. The boy was treated at a local hospital.

ROBBERIES

CHERRY HILL RD., 11800 block, 11:37 p.m. June 30. A car stopped and a male passenger armed with a gun, got out and ran toward a Beltsville woman, 26. The woman screamed, dropped her handbag and the robber picked up the bag and ran to the car, but the driver drove away before the robber got in.

EAST-WEST HWY., 1400 block, 12:20 p.m. June 30. Two males in a parking garage forced a Silver Spring man, 70, to the ground and grabbed his backpack.

NEW HAMPSHIRE AVE., 10100 block, 8:30 a.m. June 28. A male outside a store pushed a Sterling woman, 48, and grabbed her purse.

NORBECK AND MUNCASTER MILL ROADS, 1 a.m. June 20. A group of males at a party, beat a Rockville man, 21, and robbed him of jewelry.

PINEY BRANCH RD., 8500 block, June 29. A man, 37, of no fixed address was charged June 29 with attempted armed robbery, first-degree assault and carrying a concealed weapon in connection with an incident at the above location.

QUEBEC TER., 1000 block, 3:40 a.m. July 1. A male implied he was armed with a gun, forced a Silver Spring man, 19, to the ground and robbed him of property.

Wheaton/Glenmont District

HOMICIDES

GEORGIA AVE., 11200 block, 11:05 p.m. July 3. Police officers responded to a report of a shooting and found a body at the scene. Wilber Hernandez, 30, of the 3400 block of Hewitt Ave., was pronounced dead and his body was transported to the State Medical Examiners Office in Baltimore for an autopsy. Police found the car used by the gunman and discovered a man inside the car, suffering from an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound. The Wheaton man, 31, was transported to a local hospital where he died from his injury.

ROBBERIES

CONNECTICUT AVENUE AND GRAND PRE ROAD, 10:40 p.m. June 23. Five males pushed a Silver Spring man, 21, to the ground and robbed him of a bicycle and a recording device.

ELKIN STREET AND BLUE RIDGE DRIVE, 2 a.m. June 26. Three males accosted a Wheaton man, 26, and one of the males demanded cash. A second male hit the man with a bottle in a paper bag and all three males fled from the scene. The man was taken to a local hospital and treated for injuries.

OLNEY-SANDY SPRING RD., 900 block, 9:15 p.m. July 1. A male armed with a gun outside a store attempted to rob an employee of cash.

POST GATE TER., 4300 block, 10:45 p.m. July 1. A male walked behind a District man, 26, and a car pulled up in front of him and stopped. A male driver got out of the car, pointed a gun at the District man and robbed him of cash, then both males fled in the car.

BEL PRE RD., 3800 block, 11 a.m. June 23 to 9 a.m. June 24. Locks were stolen from a business entered by forcing open a door.

BROOKE RD., 18200 block, 5 p.m. June 21 to 6:45 a.m. June 22. Computer equipment, a microwave oven and a radio were stolen from a business entered by forcing open a door.
