Get a taste of the diverse cultures that make up Columbia at the annual International Day celebration Saturday. The event features live music, food and crafts. From 1 to 5 p.m., children's activities will include a moon bounce, seaweed maze, games, a visit from Pinkerton the Pink Flamingo, face painting, a juggling workshop, a climbing wall and more. Live musical entertainment features such groups as Trinidad and Tobago, a steel drum band; Charm City Klezmer, a Jewish soul band featuring Yiddish and Hebrew songs; Eagle Warrior, who will perform American Indian music and dance; and Latin jazz performers Rhumba Club. Concerts by Irish, Korean and French performers will also be held. The day ends with a concert at 9:30 p.m. by the Junkyard Saints, known for their roots party music, zydeco and Mardi Gras funk. Dancing in the Moonlight
Howard County Tourism presents the Moonlight and Music Summer Concert Series, featuring food, wine and dancing under the stars. This Saturday, musicians from Howard Community College will perform an evening of Broadway and jazz favorites.
