The Annapolis Striders, a long-distance running club and host of this year's 20th annual Governor's Bay Bridge Run, recently donated $5,000 to the Chesapeake Bay Trust. The trust, a private, nonprofit environmental organization, promotes public participation in the restoration of the Chesapeake Bay. Since 1985, the Chesapeake Bay Trust has donated more than $14 million to bay restoration projects. The Annapolis Striders, established in 1978, made the donation with funds raised during the Governor's Bay Bridge Run, held in May.

Dave Hewes of Linthicum is the new director of business development and sales for the Hanover-based Titan Publishing Corp. Hewes has worked in marketing, product development and sales for Mattel and for Thomson Prometric and will focus on finding new business opportunities for TPC creative, Titan's full-service design and graphic services division.

Golf fans have a newly developed resource for information about the Queenstown River, Queenstown Lakes, South River and Potomac Ridge golf courses. Annapolis-based Vansant Creations, a media development firm, recently launched a new version of www.mdgolf.com. Golfers can search the site for membership information, tournament sign-up sheets, virtual golf course tours, tee times and online golf contests.
