River Concert Series

The final concert of this summer series held along the banks of the St. Mary's River will feature the U.S. Navy chorus, the Sea Chanters, at 7 p.m. tomorrow. The concert will also feature the Chesapeake Orchestra under the direction of Jeffrey Silberschlag. The free show is supported by contributions from individual and corporate sponsors. KidsFest '04

Volunteer Southern Maryland hosts a fun family safety fair 1-6 p.m. Sunday at the La Plata campus of the College of Southern Maryland. KidsFest '04 features a bike rodeo, magicians, caricature artists, face painting, storytelling, safety workshops, a helmet give-away and the Baltimore Ravens cheerleaders. Community agencies will hand out safety information. Admission is the donation of at least one new or used book or toy. All collected items will be donated to low-income families in the community. KidsFest '04 is sponsored by Volunteer Southern Maryland, the College of Southern Maryland Student Government Association, the Maryland State Police Explorers Program, the Charles County Sheriff's Office, Safeway and the Boy's and Girl's Club of Southern Maryland. Thousands of music lovers have been attending the free River Concert Series held this spring and summer along the St. Mary's River at St. Mary's College of Maryland. The seventh and final concert is at 7 p.m. tomorrow.
