Baseball Factory will hold free tryouts for high school baseball players ages 14-18 on Aug. 4 at Shirley Povich Field in Bethesda. Players should report to the field at 1:30 p.m. for registration; tryouts will follow at 2.
Top players will be selected to play on one of Baseball Factory's national teams that will compete in the USABF World Series, Arizona Fall Classic and other tournaments. Through Baseball Factory's partnership with Team One, participants also will have the chance to qualify for a Team One Showcase.
Baseball Factory's staff of professional scouts, former professional players and former college coaches will evaluate players on speed, defense, pitching, hitting and arm strength.
Players and parents also will have the opportunity to participate in a college recruiting question-and-answer session.

The Columbia Red Storm U8 (born on or after 8/1/95) team is holding tryouts for fall 2004 and spring 2005. This team will play in the U9 age group next year.
