Guilty plea: Andrew Lofty, 16, pleaded guilty yesterday in connection with the death of a man killed while riding a motor scooter in Southeast Washington, the U.S. attorney's office said.
Prosecutors said that Lofty pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and unauthorized use of a vehicle in the July 2 death of Terry A. Weaver, who was hit by a stolen car on G Street near Alabama Avenue. Lofty had been charged as an adult with second-degree murder.
Man stabbed: A man was stabbed and severely wounded late last night in Northwest. Police said that an artery was slashed in the man's hand about 11:30 p.m. after a dispute in the 3500 block of Georgia Avenue.
Southeast shooting: Aman was shot in the back and wounded late last night in Southeast Washington, D.C. police said. They said the attack occurred around 11:30 p.m. in the 4300 block of Third Street SE. The man was taken to a hospital.
Mother indicted: The mother of a 12-year-old boy charged with threatening schoolmates and teachers with a rifle inside his Prince William County middle school in June has been indicted by a grand jury on a gun charge, officials said yesterday.
