Man Injured in Dogfight

TAKOMA PARK, Greenwood Ave., 7000 block, July 21. A man was bitten on the arm after he went into his yard to break up a fight between his dog and a neighbor's dog that had jumped over a fence. The attacking animal was quarantined at the neighbor's home for 10 days. If the pet is healthy at the end of the quarantine, no further precautions will be necessary. Because of the aggressive behavior, the dog may be declared potentially dangerous under the Montgomery County Code.

2 Dogs, Boa Seized After Arrest

GERMANTOWN, Bristlecone Way, 13000 block, July 21. An Animal Services officer impounded two pit bulls and a small boa constrictor after being called to the scene of an arrest warrant being served. Six days later, the owner claimed the animals and paid impound and board fees totaling $162.

Parrot Is Rescued

GERMANTOWN, Turmeric Ct., 18000 block, July 22. An Animal Services officer rescued a Quaker parrot from the bottom of a window well at a residence. The bird was to remain at the shelter for six days, then be made available for adoption.
