Owl Freed From Soccer Net
COLUMBIA, Little Patuxent Pkwy., 10900 block, 9:20 a.m. Aug. 2. An owl was caught in a soccer net. Animal control officers freed the great horned owl, which had injuries to a wing and leg. The owl was taken to a licensed rehabilitator, treated and released into the wild.
Dog's Conditions Investigated
COLUMBIA, High Tor Hill, 5600 block, 8:30 p.m. July 31. A dog was reportedly left in a garage without someone to care for it while the owner was out of town. An animal control officer found a shepherd-collie mix, with paper spread on the garage floor and bowls of food and water. After no one responded at the front door, the officer left a notice for the owner to contact Animal Control to verify proper care was being provided. The case was continuing.
