ROBBERIES

WISCONSIN AVE., 7200 block, July 23.

Two Silver Spring youths, ages 14 and 15, were charged July 23 with robbery, theft

under $500 and destruction of property in connection with an incident at the above location.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

BROOKVILLE RD., 7300 block, 1 to 7 a.m. July 25. Cash was stolen from a residence entered through a window.

CLERMONT AVE., 10900 block, 7 a.m. July 20 to 8:30 p.m. July 21. Cash was stolen from a residence.

CROMWELL DR., 5800 block, 3:30 p.m. July 23 to 7 a.m. July 26. An elementary school was entered by forcing open a door. Nothing was reported missing.

DEL RAY AVE., 4800 block, 6:30 to 6:45 p.m. July 24. Computer equipment was stolen from a dental office entered by forcing open a door.

WISCONSIN AVE., 8200 block, 6 p.m. July 18 to 8:30 a.m. July 20. An attempt was made to enter a medical office by forcing a door.

Germantown District

ASSAULTS

FREDERICK RD., 20900 block, 9:21 p.m. July 26. During an argument, a man shot at a 23-year-old Damascus man and fled in a vehicle. No injuries were reported.

ROBBERIES

CLOPPER AND LIBERTY MILL ROADS, 5:30 p.m. July 26. Four males followed two men, ages 21, of Germantown and Silver Spring, who had gotten off a bus, and one of the males struck one of the men in the face, then robbed him of a wallet. The four assailants fled.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

DANCREST DR., 12400 block, 2 to 8:15 a.m. July 20. Cash and cigarettes were stolen from a residence.

OLD BALTIMORE RD. W., 12300 block, 1 to 6:30 p.m. July 20. A stereo, speakers, a DVD player, DVDs and a saw were stolen from a residence.

Montgomery Village/

Gaithersburg District

SEXUAL ASSAULTS

GAITHERSBURG, July 9. A 33-year-old Gaithersburg man was charged July 9 with child abuse, third-degree sex offense and second-degree assault in connection with a June 16 incident.

GAITHERSBURG, July 31. A 29-year-old Gaithersburg woman reported that a neighbor grabbed her in an apartment building hallway, forced her to the back of the building and attempted to rape her. She broke free and called police. A 27-year-old Gaithersburg man was charged with attempted second-degree rape, fourth-degree sex offense, second-degree assault, malicious destruction of property and indecent exposure.

ASSAULTS

DEER PARK RD. W., 1 to 100 block, July 25. A 38-year-old man was charged with first-degree assault in connection with an incident at the above location.

ROBBERIES

CLOPPER RD., 700 block, 11 p.m. July 24. Two men knocked on an apartment door. When the door was opened, they questioned two Gaithersburg residents, a 29-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman, about a vehicle, then forced their way inside the apartment and robbed the man and woman of cash at gunpoint.

DIAMOND AVE. E., 200 block, 4:27 p.m. July 22. A gunman took cash from an antiques store.

LAKEFOREST MALL AREA, 8:10 p.m. July 28. A male demanded cash from a 20-year-old Gaithersburg man and two men appeared and swung a pipe at the man but missed. The first male pulled out a knife, but the man knocked it out of his hand and fled the area.

LAKEFOREST MALL, 8:45 p.m. July 26. Two males accosted a 14-year-old Gaithersburg youth as he was leaving a shopping mall and one of the males took his wallet, removed cash and returned the wallet to the youth. The second male attempted to remove the youth's backpack but was unsuccessful.

NORTH CREEK LAKE PARK AND ASPENWOOD LANE, 1:30 p.m. July 27. A male forced a male cyclist, 13, of Gaithersburg, to the ground and demanded cash. The youth did not respond and the robber fled.

STEDWICK ROAD AREA, 9:25 p.m. Aug. 3. Two males accosted a 45-year-old Montgomery Village woman and robbed her of a purse at knifepoint.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

ELECTRA DR., 20000 block, 3 p.m. July 23 to 8 a.m. July 24. An attempt was made to enter a residence by breaking a window.

FREDERICK AVE. N., 200 block, 8 p.m. July 26 to 7:30 a.m. July 27. A 1994 Honda Accord EX was stolen from a residential garage.

HUMMINGBIRD TER., 9200 block, 3 to 6:15 p.m. July 24. Cash was stolen from a residence entered by forcing open a door.

TRYAL CT., 8700 block, 4 a.m. July 20. A man entered a residence through an unlocked ground-floor window, and a 17-year-old Gaithersburg girl awoke and found him kneeling next to her bed. The man fled.

PEEPING TOM INCIDENTS

MEADOWVALE SUBDIVISION, 1:50 a.m. July 16. A Gaithersburg girl, 16, saw a male looking at her through her front porch window.

Rockville District

SEXUAL ASSAULTS

ROCKVILLE, 5 p.m. July 23. A 28-year-old Virginia man drank vodka with a 19-year-old Rockville woman in her residence, then sexually assaulted her after she fell asleep.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

FERRARA DR., 3700 block, noon July 20 to 2 p.m. July 26. A residence was entered

through a window. Nothing was reported missing.

PARKLAWN DR., 12400 block, 11:51 a.m. July 22. A 1992 black Mazda was stolen at the above location and recovered July 29 at the First and Noyes avenues. A 39-year-old man of no fixed address was charged with theft over $500, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, possession of crack cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also charged with fleeing and eluding and reckless driving.

PISSARO DR., 12300 block, 6 p.m. July 21 to 3 p.m. July 25. A bicycle was stolen from a garage at a residence.

TWINBROOK PKWY., 12900 block, noon July 23 to 8 p.m. July 26. Cash was stolen from a residence entered by climbing through a window.

Silver Spring District

SEXUAL ASSAULTS

SILVER SPRING, July 25. A 21-year-old man raped a 27-year-old Baltimore woman May 8 in an apartment.

WHISPERING PINES DR., 3200 block, 5:23 p.m. July 23. A man was seen looking into a residence and fondling himself.

FRANKLIN KNOLLS AREA, Aug. 3. A 67-year-old Silver Spring man was arrested Aug. 3 at his residence at the above location and charged with child abuse and second-degree sex offense in connection with incidents that occurred between September 1978 and December 1992.

ASSAULTS

BRIGGS CHANEY RD., 3500 block, July 23. A 42-year-old man was charged July 23 with first- and second-degree assault and disorderly intoxication in connection with an incident at the above location.

CASTLE BLVD., 13800 block, July 24. A 32-year-old man was charged July 24 with first- and second-degree assault in connection with an incident at the above location.

GRANT AVE., 10200 block, 10:30 p.m. July 21. While an argument proceeded outside a residence, a 43-year-old female resident inside heard a gunshot and a bullet grazed her side. The woman was transported to a hospital for treatment.

PINEY BRANCH RD., 8400 block, 12:10 a.m. July 24. A 26-year-old Takoma Park man was found stabbed at the above location. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.

ROBBERIES

BRIGGS CHANEY ROAD AREA, 9 p.m. July 21. One of several boys asked a Silver Spring woman, 20, to give him cash. The woman refused, and the boy went through her pockets, robbed her of cash, forced her to the ground and fled on his bike with the other boys.

FLOWER AVE., 8700 block, July 25. A 28-year-old man, of no fixed address, was charged July 25 with robbery, second-degree assault and theft under $500 in connection with an incident at the above location.

NORTHAMPTON DR., 800 block, 10:30 a.m. July 16. A gunman demanded cash from a 30-year-old Oxon Hill motorist, forced him from the car and drove away in it with two other men.

WHITE OAK VISTA DR., 1600 block, 3:06 a.m. July 23. A car was reported stolen from the above location. Officers in the April and White Oak Vista lanes area saw the reportedly stolen vehicle and another car and attempted to stop them. Drivers of both vehicles tried to elude apprehension and struck several

marked police cars. The cars' occupants fled on foot. A Forestville boy and a Washington boy were arrested and charged with motor

vehicle theft, conspiracy to commit motor vehicle theft, theft over $500, conspiracy to commit theft over $500 and unauthorized

use of a vehicle. A third boy, 16, of Upper Marlboro, was charged as an adult with first- and second-degree assault, reckless

endangerment, motor vehicle theft, theft over $500, conspiracy to commit theft over

$500 and unauthorized use of a vehicle.

And a fourth boy, 16, of Capitol Heights,

was charged as an adult with first- and

second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, motor vehicle theft, theft over $500, conspiracy to commit theft over $500, unauthorized use of a vehicle and rogue and vagabond.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

APRIL LANE, 1600 block, 6:45 p.m. July 29. A man implied that he had a weapon under his shirt and ordered a 37-year-old woman to give him her vehicle. The woman took her 6-year-old daughter from the back seat of the car, and the man fled with the vehicle. The next day, police saw the vehicle and followed it. The driver got out of the car and was chased on foot. A 24-year-old Silver Spring man was arrested and charged with carjacking, unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, theft over $500, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, first- and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment.

DARTMOUTH AVE., 700 block, 8:30 p.m. July 25 to 7:05 a.m. July 26. Bicycles were stolen from a residence entered by forcing open a door.

DOMER AVE., 500 block, 2:40 to 2:45 p.m. July 21. A residence was entered by climbing through a window. Nothing was reported missing.

FENTON ST., 8500 block, 2:30 p.m. July 23 to 6:30 a.m. July 26. A business was entered. Nothing was reported missing.

GALWAY DR., 10600 block, 10:42 p.m. July 20. An elementary school was entered. Nothing was reported missing.

GATEWAY TER., 3800 block, 8 to 8:30 p.m. July 26. A residence was entered by forcing open a door. Nothing was reported missing.

MONTCLAIR DR., 12700 block, 2:30 to 11 p.m. July 23. Camera equipment was stolen from a residence entered by forcing open a door.

MOUNT PISGAH RD., 9700 block, 10 a.m. July 19 to 10 a.m. July 22. Musical equipment was stolen from a residence.

NOVEMBER CIR., 1500 block, 10:15 p.m. July 27. A man ordered a 21-year-old Silver Spring woman to give him her vehicle keys. The woman complied, and the man took the vehicle, which was recovered the next day in the same area.

OLD COLUMBIA PIKE, 15400 block, 6 p.m. July 25 to 7 a.m. July 26. A lock box with cash was stolen from a grocery store entered by forcing open a door.

OLD COLUMBIA PIKE, 15500 block, 1:30 p.m. July 15 to noon July 23. Lawn equipment was stolen from an elementary school shed entered by forcing open a door.

PINEY BRANCH RD., 8500 block, 9 p.m. July 23 to 9:45 a.m. July 24. Phone cards were stolen from a discount store entered by forcing open a door.

PINEY BRANCH RD., 9200 block, 4:30 to 7:15 p.m. July 22. Cash and jewelry were stolen from a residence entered by climbing through a window.

SECOND AVE., 8500 block, 2 to 9:15 p.m. July 26. Jewelry and personal papers were stolen from a business.

SEXUAL ASSAULTS

GEORGIA AVE., 12400 block, 11:30 p.m. July 26. A man who appeared to be intoxicated fondled a Silver Spring girl as she talked on a pay phone.

ROBBERIES

ATHERTON DRIVE AND W. RANDOLPH ROAD, 2:30 a.m. July 24. Three males accosted a 34-year-old Rockville man, and one of the males began to punch and kick the man and robbed him of a wallet. The three assailants fled in a vehicle.

OLNEY-SANDY SPRING RD., 900 block, 9 p.m. July 1. A 19-year-old Sandy Spring man was charged July 30 with attempted armed robbery, first-degree assault and use of a handgun during a felony in connection with a July 1 incident.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

ABBY MANOR WAY, 18900 block, 8 p.m. July 24 to 10:30 a.m. July 25. Tape was stolen from an office entered by prying a door frame.

ARCOLA AVE., 1900 block, 9 to 9:06 p.m. July 22. An attempt was made to enter a residence by forcing a lock.

BEAVERWOOD LANE, 3100 block, 2:15 p.m. July 20 to 6:20 p.m. July 24. Cash, videos, a video game system and a game, clothing and jewelry were stolen from a residence entered by forcing open a window.

UNIVERSITY BLVD., 2400 block, 3:45 p.m. Aug. 3. A man broke out the rear window of a vehicle occupied by a passenger, grabbed a bag containing cash and diamonds from behind the driver's seat and fled in another car.

GEORGIA AVE., 12400 block,1:15 p.m. July 25. A 45-year-old man, of no fixed address, was charged July 25 with indecent exposure and false statement to a police officer in connection with an incident at the above location.

ROCKVILLE PIKE, 200 block, 9:45 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. July 27. Two duffel bags and their contents were stolen from a vehicle.
