Injured Guinea Pig Found

ASHBURN, Belmont Ridge Road, July 2. A woman reported that she had found a stray guinea pig. An animal control officer responded, found the animal to be injured and took it to a veterinarian.

Missing Lab Returned to Owner

STERLING, Stablehouse Drive, July 6. An animal control officer responded to a report of a stray black lab. The officer found the dog confined in a neighbor's backyard and returned it to its owner.

Cat Receives Treatment

ASHBURN, University Drive, July 6. A man reported a cat with injured hind legs hiding under bushes in his front yard. An animal control officer found a male domestic medium-hair cat with a broken pelvis and took it to a veterinarian.

Feral Cats Caught, Euthanized

LEESBURG, Hogeland Mill Road, July 7. An animal control officer responded to a report of possibly rabid feral cats on a residential property. The officer set several humane traps that caught the cats within hours. The officer took them to a veterinarian's office, where they were euthanaized and were to be tested for rabies.

Boxer Retrieved From Creek

LEESBURG, Mill Race Terrace, July 7. A woman reported a boxer swimming in a creek behind her house. Several neighbors were trying to get the dog out of the water; a bystander succeeded while an animal control officer was en route.
