THEFTS/BREAK-INS

BLUE POOL LANE, 8900 block. 8 to 10:30 a.m. Aug. 6. A video game system, DVDs and a camera were stolen from a house entered by forcing a window.

WHITE PEBBLE PATH, 5800 block, 2 to 7 a.m. Aug. 10. Two wallets, a laptop and cash were stolen from a residence entered through an unlocked interior garage door.

Columbia Area

SEXUAL ASSAULTS

STEVENS FOREST RD., 5600-5900 blocks, 3 p.m. Aug. 6. A 21-year-old woman was sexually assaulted by a man after the man engaged her in conversation in a laundry room. The woman was taken to a hospital, where she was treated and released.

ROBBERIES

STEVENS FOREST RD., 5800 block, 10:56 p.m. Aug. 6. Three men assaulted an undercover officer and robbed the officer of cash. A 19-year-old man, a 29-year-old man and a 34-year-old man, all of Columbia, were arrested.

INDECENT EXPOSURE

COLUMBIA RD., 5600 block, 11:15 to 11:45 Aug. 9. A man looked into the windows at a residence and fondled himself. A 36-year-old North Carolina man was charged with indecent exposure.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

COLUMBIA RD., 4600 block, 2:28 a.m. Aug. 7. Five youths entered a pool. Nothing was reported missing.

COPPER SKY CT., 6200 block, 8:30 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. Aug. 9. Jewelry and other items were stolen from a residence entered by forcing a rear basement window.

FAREWELL RD., 9300 block, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Aug. 7. A TV and a DVD/VCR combination were stolen from a residence entered by climbing up a ladder that had been left on a deck and climbing through an unlocked window.

STEVENS FOREST RD., 5700 block, 4:40 p.m. Aug. 4. A video game system was stolen from a residence.

TAMAR DR., 5900 block, 6:52 a.m. Aug. 6. Police responded to a report of a burglary in progress at a residence. Upon arrival, they saw a man fleeing the residence. A 42-year-old man was arrested.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS

CORDAGE WALK, 10700 block, 5:13 a.m. Aug. 5. A 1994 Chevrolet Caprice Classic was stolen.

CORDAGE WALK, 10700 block, 1 to 8:30 a.m. Aug. 10. A silver 2003 Yamaha Vino motorcycle was stolen.

EAST WIND WAY, 10500 block, 2:20 p.m. Aug. 5. A blue 2003 Volkswagen was stolen.

EDEN BROOK DR., 7300 block, 5:43 p.m. Aug. 8. An attempt was made to steal a blue Oldsmobile Cutlass.

FLAMEPOOL WAY, 9000 block, 4 p.m. Aug. 9 to 5:16 a.m. Aug. 10. A silver 2001 Dodge Stratus was stolen.

MCGAW CT., 8900 block, 6:54 a.m. Aug. 10. A 2000 International 24-foot box truck was stolen.

MOVING WATER LANE, 9000 block, 6:45 p.m. Aug. 6. A 2000 Honda Civic was stolen.

STANFORD BLVD., 8800 block, Aug. 4 to Aug. 5. A 2000 Ford Crown Victoria was stolen.

TIMESWEEP LANE, 9400 block, 7:06 p.m. Aug. 10. A Honda CR 1000 was stolen.

Elkridge Area

ROBBERIES

WASHINGTON BLVD., 6300 block, 9:25 to 10:22 p.m. Aug. 10. A man entered a restaurant and asked for directions. He then displayed a black handgun in his waistband and ordered a clerk to open a register and get on the ground. The clerk complied and the man fled in a vehicle with the cash.

WASHINGTON BLVD., 6300 block, 1:40 to 2 a.m. Aug. 11. Cash was stolen from a register at a business entered by smashing a front glass door.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

DEEP RUN PKWY., 6600 block, 6 p.m. Aug. 7 to 3:55 p.m. Aug. 8. An electric saw was stolen from a detached shed at a residence.

MICHAEL ELIZABETH WAY, 6400 block, 4 to 5:29 p.m. Aug. 10. Two males entered a residence by forcing a bedroom window. Hearing noise, a resident went to investigate and confronted the intruders in the hallway. They fled without taking anything.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS

BROOKDALE DR., 7100 block, 10 to 10:37 p.m. Aug. 5. A black 2000 Ford Explorer was stolen.

Ellicott City Area

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

COLLEGE AVE., 4100 block, 8:23 p.m. Aug. 7. An attempt was made to enter a hospital's service building by tearing down the bay door of a garage. Nothing was reported missing.

FLAG FLOWER PL., 5700 block, 9:20 to 10 p.m. Aug. 10. An attempt was made to enter a residence by forcing a rear window and a rear French door.

HARBIN CT., 9700 block, 11 p.m. Aug. 8 to 8:30 a.m. Aug. 9. Two bicycles and a garage door remote control device were stolen from a residential garage entered using an automatic garage door opener that had been left in an unlocked vehicle. The bicycles were later recovered.

ILCHESTER RD., 4900 block, 8 p.m. Aug. 6 to 2 a.m. Aug. 7. Power lawn tools were stolen from a shed entered by forcing a door.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS

FAWN RIVER WAY, 12300 block, 1:47 p.m. Aug. 9. A 1999 Honda equipped with a geographic tracking device was stolen.

JOYCIN CT., 3600 block, 12:14 p.m. Aug. 5. An attempt was made to steal a red 1989 Jeep Cherokee.

Jessup Area

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

STAYTON DR., 8200 block, 4 p.m. Aug. 4 to 10:30 a.m. Aug. 5. Paper and plastic items were stolen from a distribution business.

STAYTON DR., 8200 block, 12:13 a.m. Aug. 11. A patrol officer saw a man flee from a wooded area on the north side of a business and enter a van. The officer observed cases of alcohol in the rear of the van and spotted eight cases of alcohol next to the business. Two men, ages 30 and 32, were later arrested. One the men was an employee of the business and had taken the night off.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS

ASSATEAGUE DR., 7300 block, 5:43 p.m. Aug. 8. A 1995 Ford F150 truck was stolen.

WASHINGTON BLVD., 8300 block, Aug. 6 to 12:49 p.m. Aug. 9. A green 1996 Ford Escort was stolen.

Laurel Area

ROBBERIES

LIVERY LANE, 9200 block, Aug. 1. Police responded to a residence after a suspicious delivery order was placed with a pizza restaurant. Two male juveniles armed with an eight-inch kitchen knife were observed seated in the shadows across from where the order was to be delivered. Two 17-year-old males were arrested and charged with attempted robbery. They were also charged in connection with the July 17 robbery of a pizza delivery person at gunpoint in Laurel. A pellet handgun was later recovered.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

FALLING WATERS CT., 9400 block, 9:40 a.m. to 5:14 p.m. Aug. 6. Jewelry was stolen from a residence entered through a kitchen window that had been left open for a cat.

FALLING WATERS CT., 9400 block, 5:23 p.m. Aug. 6. A residence was entered by forcing a kitchen window. Nothing was reported missing.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS

BRANDY LANE, 9200 block, 1:54 a.m. Aug. 11. A green 2002 Kawasaki Ninja ZX9 motorcycle was stolen.

DURNESS LANE, 9500 block, 7:30 p.m. Aug. 6 to 12:30 a.m. Aug. 7. A green 1997 racing bike and motor were stolen.

PROMISE CT., 9700 block, 6:40 p.m. Aug. 6. An attempt was made to steal a Honda Civic.

West Friendship Area

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

FREDERICK RD., 12600 block, 7 to 8 p.m. Aug. 3. Power tools were stolen from a plumbing and heating business entered by three people who were captured on video surveillance as they drove into a rear parking lot.
