ASSAULTS

BERKSHIRE DR., 6000 block, 9:15 p.m. Aug. 3. A Bethesda woman, 18, was charged Aug. 3 with first- and second-degree assault in connection with an incident at the above location.

BETHESDA AREA, July 7. A Kensington man, 20, was charged July 7 with third-degree sex offense.

MONTGOMERY LANE, 4700 block, 1:52 a.m. Aug. 8. A Rockville man, 22, was charged Aug. 8 with first- and second-degree assault of a police officer, disorderly conduct, failure to obey a lawful order from a police officer and resisting arrest in connection with an incident at the above location.

WISCONSIN AND MONTGOMERY AVENUES, 7 a.m. July 29. A man swung a baseball bat at a Brookville man, 57, during an argument. A Hyattsville man, 30, was charged with first- and second-degree assault.

ROBBERIES

ROCKVILLE PIKE, 8100 block, 4 a.m. Aug. 2. A male posed as a cab driver, drove a Bethesda woman, 55, to the above location, implied he was armed with a gun and robbed her of a purse.

PEEPING TOM INCIDENTS

ARLINGTON RD., 7400 block, 3:30 p.m. Aug. 1. A man, 27, seated in the men's room in a library and noticed a male peering at him through the gap between the stalls. The male fled.

Germantown District

ASSAULTS

ANGELA CT., 25000 block, 8 p.m. July 27. A man beat a boy, 12, at the residence of a female acquaintance. The boy was transported to a local hospital and treated for injuries. A Damascus man, 33, was charged with first-degree child abuse, second-degree child abuse, first-degree assault and second-degree assault in connection with the incident.

QUAIL VALLEY SUBDIVISION, 9:15 p.m. July 27. A Germantown youth, 14, was charged July 27 with first- and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment in connection with an incident at the above location.

WISTERIA DRIVE AND WARING STATION ROAD, 4 p.m. Aug. 4. Five males accosted a Germantown youth, 17, and a male companion and one of the males provoked a fight and cut one the youths with a knife. The companion used his cell phone and the assailants fled thinking he was calling police.

ROBBERIES

WELLHOUSE COURT AND METZ DRIVE, 2:30 a.m. July 29. Two males demanded property from a Germantown man, 48, who had none. One of the robbers then pushed the man, the second male threw a bottle at him and both robbers fled.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

ALDBURG WAY, 11500 block, 12:01 to 3 a.m. July 31. Cash, a BB gun and food were stolen from a residence.

BOYSENBERRY WAY, 9000 block, 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 5. Cash and jewelry were stolen from a residence entered by forcing open a door.

BUREAU DR., 1 to 100 block, 10:15 p.m. Aug. 5 to 9:30 a.m. Aug. 6. Cash was stolen from a residence entered by breaking a window.

CLOPPER RD., 600 block, Aug. 5. Two juveniles, ages 15, from Gaithersburg and Rockville were charged Aug. 5 with second-degree burglary and vandalism in connection with an incident at the above location.

CLUB VIEW DR., 24200 block, 4 to 8 p.m. July 28. A bicycle and a beach chair were stolen from a garage.

GROTTO LANE, 19100 block, 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Aug. 3. Computer equipment, a video game system and musical equipment were stolen from a residence entered by forcing open a door.

CENTER POINT WAY, 600 block, 1:20 a.m. July 29. A male argued with a Gaithersburg man, 26, and hit him on the head with a bottle.

CLOPPER RD., 700 block, 1:15 a.m. Aug. 5. A man threw a bottle at a Gaithersburg woman, 16, striking her on the back of the head and cutting her.

SWEET GUM CIR., 19000 block, 9:15 p.m. Aug. 3. A Gaithersburg man, 55, was charged Aug. 3 with first-degree assault in connection with an incident at the above location.

ROBBERIES

CLUB HOUSE RD., 19300 block, Aug. 8. A male robbed a pizza deliveryman of cash, a cell phone, a pizza and a soda at knifepoint. A short time later, a Gaithersburg boy, 17, was charged with armed robbery and first-degree assault.

FREDERICK AND MIDDLEBROOK ROADS, July 28. A Germantown man, 18, and a man, 18, of no fixed address, were charged July 28 with attempted robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and second-degree assault in connection with an incident at the above location. Also arrested were two Germantown juveniles, ages 14 and 17.

GIRARD ST., 400 block, 12:30 a.m. Aug. 8. Several boys accosted a Gaithersburg man, 39, punched him, forced him to the ground and robbed him of cash and a wallet.

MONTGOMERY VILLAGE MALL, 10:30 p.m. July 30. Six males accosted a Gaithersburg man, 31, demanded cash and robbed him of a cell phone.

MUDDY BRANCH RD., 200 block, 9:30 p.m. Aug. 8. Three males accosted a Gaithersburg man, 59, struck him on the head with their fists, kicked and punched him, then robbed him of cash.

CARROLL AVE., 8700 block, 9:53 p.m. July 29. A Silver Spring man, 28, was charged July 29 with first- and second-degree assault in connection with an incident at the above location.

CHANDLEE MILL RD., 19400 block, 5:08 a.m. Aug. 8. Several males in a driveway accosted a Derwood man, 49, who was picking up a lawn mower. One of the males fired several rounds at the man grazing him on the top of the head and fled with the rest of the males in a vehicle. The man was taken to a local hospital and treated.

DEER PARK SUBDIVISION, 3:30 a.m. Aug. 1. A Silver Spring youth, 17, was charged Aug. 1 with attempted first-degree assault, attempted first-degree burglary, attempted second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, malicious destruction of property and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle in connection with an incident at the above location.

HEATHER HOLLOW CIR., 1500 block, 8:50 a.m. Aug. 2. A Silver Spring woman, 50, was charged Aug. 2 with first-degree assault and reckless endangerment in connection with an incident at the above location.

EAST WEST HWY., 1200 block, 11:15 p.m. Aug. 5. Two men grabbed a Silver Spring woman, 35, and robbed her at gunpoint of a purse containing cash, a cell phone and a pair of glasses.

GLENVIEW DRIVE AND DOMER AVENUE, 10:45 p.m. Aug. 4. Five males armed with knives jumped out of a car and robbed a Silver Spring youth, 17, of a backpack.

PINEY BRANCH ROAD AND SLIGO CREEK PARKWAY, 1:45 a.m. July 31. Two males armed with bottles and machetes jumped out of a vehicle and demanded cash from three Hyattsville men. The men resisted, a fight ensued and the males fled empty-handed. The men were treated for injuries.

SEXUAL ASSAULTS

GEORGIA AVENUE AND LAYHILL ROAD, 2:20 a.m. Aug. 8. A man gave a woman, 44, a ride from the above location and drove her to an unidentified residence and raped her in the basement. Later, the man dropped her at University Boulevard West and Elkin Street, where she called police.

GEORGIAN WAY, 1:45 a.m. Aug. 8. A naked man was discovered in the bedroom of a 4-year-old girl. A Wheaton man, 40, was charged with attempted second-degree rape and burglary.

ASSAULTS

BLUERIDGE AVE., 2300 block, midnight Aug. 1. Two males entered an apartment and kicked a Wheaton man, 40. The man was transported to a local hospital and treated.

GEORGIA AVE., 13500 block, 1:43 p.m. Aug. 2. A man, 19, of no fixed address, was charged Aug. 2 with strong armed robbery, first- and second-degree assault and theft under $500 in connection with an incident at the above location.

PRICE AVE., 2300 block, 4 p.m. Aug. 7. A man entered a hair salon and robbed two employees and two customers of cash at knifepoint.

MONROE ST., 700 block, 6:35 p.m. Aug. 3. A Rockville woman, 25, was charged Aug. 3 with first-degree aggravated assault in connection with an incident at the above location.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

ANDERSON AVE., 500 block, 6 p.m. Aug. 8 to 5 p.m. Aug. 9. A car stereo, speakers and a hammer were stolen from a vehicle entered by forcing open a door.

BALTIMORE RD., 2100 block, 7 p.m. Aug. 3 to 6 a.m. Aug. 4. A computer, computer monitor, mouse and two cell phones were stolen from a business under construction.

CONGRESSIONAL LANE, 200 block, April 1 to 2 p.m. Aug. 4. A suitcase was stolen from a storage.

JEFFERSON ST. E., 1600 block, Aug. 6 to 9 p.m. Aug. 7. A tire and a wheel rim were stolen from a vehicle.

MONTGOMERY AVE. E., 100 block, 4:40 to 4:45 p.m. Aug. 6. A purse was stolen.

PICCARD DR., 1700 block, 6:30 a.m. Aug. 3 to 6:30 a.m. Aug. 4. Construction material was stolen from multiple buildings.

ROCKVILLE PIKE, 1000 block, 2:55 a.m. Aug. 9. A Germantown man, 20, was charged Aug. 9 with theft and motor vehicle theft following a police stop for a suspected traffic violation at the above location.

ROCKVILLE PIKE, 1600 block, 12:30 to 7:50 a.m. Aug. 5. A business was entered by breaking a window. Nothing was reported missing.

ROCKVILLE PIKE, 800 block, 3 to 3:15 p.m. Aug. 9. A Silver Spring man, 45, was charged Aug. 9 with theft in connection with an incident at the above location.

WESTMORE RD., 7400 block, 2 p.m. July 31 to 8:30 a.m. Aug. 2. Four wheels and tires were stolen from a vehicle.
