TOWN CENTER BLVD., 10:35 a.m. Aug. 11. An attempt was made to pry open an office door at the Dunkirk Amoco.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

WEST TOMAHAWK TRAIL, 7:12 p.m. Aug. 12. Cash and a guitar were stolen from a residence.

Owings Area

NANA RUSSELL RD., 7:56 p.m. Aug. 11. A pet bird was stolen from a residence.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY

BOYD'S TURN RD., 8:45 a.m. Aug. 12. Several mailboxes in a neighborhood were smashed.

Port Republic Area

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

MILES WAY, 5:08 p.m. Aug. 12. A power washer and two toolboxes were stolen from a shed at a residence. The shed had been forced open.

Bryans Road Area

VEHICLE THEFTS

ROUTE 210 AND DOWNS DR., 11:40 a.m. Aug. 17. A man, 43, refused to stop at a traffic stop, drove into a neighborhood, exited the vehicle with an 11-year-old passenger and attempted to flee into a wooded area. Police learned the vehicle and its license plates were stolen. The man was charged with theft.

Indian Head Area

VEHICLE THEFTS

EMMA LANE, 5300 block, 8:30 p.m. Aug. 10 to 6:30 a.m. Aug. 11. A 1993 green Jeep Cherokee was stolen from a residence.

Marbury Area

CHICAMUXEN RD., 6100 block, Aug. 9-12. Construction materials were stolen from a construction site.

Nanjemoy Area

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

MARYLAND POINT RD., 11400 block, 2:15 a.m. Aug. 15. A burglar forced his way into a residence and attempted to break into a locked closet. When a resident confronted the burglar, he fled.

Waldorf Area

ASSAULTS

MIDDLETON RD., 200 block, 9:07 p.m. Aug. 15. Two males entered a residence and demanded money from a man, 24. A struggle ensued and the man fled. He attempted to re-enter the residence and was shot. The two males then fled. The man is listed in stable condition at Prince George's Hospital Center.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

CRAIN HWY., 3300 block, 5:54 p.m. Aug. 8. Two men, 41 and 43, stole a GPS/PDA device (global positioning system/personal digital assistant) from the Radio Shack store and fled. They were charged with theft over $500.

HERITAGE PL., 1100 block, 10:03 a.m. Aug. 13. An object was thrown through the window of a residence in an attempt to gain entry.

SMALLWOOD DR. W., 1100 block, 12:50 a.m. Aug. 10. Money, pet supplies and a bulldog were stolen from Pups-N-Stuff.

VEHICLE THEFTS

GOUGH DR., 3400 block, 9:30 a.m. Aug. 12. A 1991 white Honda Accord was stolen.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY

LARKSPUR CT., 800 block, 9 p.m. Aug. 11 to 6 a.m. Aug. 12. Two vehicles in a parking lot were vandalized.

FLEETWOOD CIR., 6 p.m. July 28 to 4:30 p.m. July 29. A riding lawn mower was stolen from a yard at a residence.
