The Greater Maryland chapter of the Alzheimer's Association will host "Memory Walks" at 9 a.m. Saturday in Idlewild Park, at Idlewild and Aurora streets, Easton, and at 9 a.m. Sept. 11 at Eastport Elementary School, 420 Fifth Ave., Annapolis.
The walks will raise money for the chapter, which helps individuals and families deal with Alzheimer's disease.
The chapter's service area includes Baltimore City and Allegany, Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Caroline, Carroll, Cecil, Dorchester, Frederick, Garrett, Harford, Howard, Kent, Queen Anne's, Somerset, Talbot, Washington, Wicomico and Worcester counties.
The Easton and Annapolis walks are among 300 being held nationwide.

Boating Safety Course Set
A Maryland Basic Boating Safety course will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Sept. 21, 23, 28 and 30 at West Annapolis Elementary School, 104 Forbes St., Suite 102, Annapolis.
The eight-hour course is designed for novice boaters and sailors. The $15 registration fee covers the cost of books. Those who complete the course will receive a certification card. For more information, call 410-263-3616.
Cute Kids Contest Open
Anne Arundel County residents have until Tuesday to register their children for the Anne Arundel County Fair's Cute Kid Contest.
The contest is open to 1- to 4-year-olds and will be held at 9:15 a.m. Sept. 18 at the Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds, 1450 Generals Hwy., Crownsville. For registration, a self-addressed, stamped envelope should be sent to Cute Kid Contest, 1157 River Bay Rd., Annapolis.
