COMPASS WAY, 800 block, 11:20 a.m. Aug. 17. A man gave a teller a note, implied that he had a weapon and robbed a bank of cash. He was wearing sunglasses and a bandage across his left cheek.

ASSAULTS

HOSPITAL DR., 300 block, Aug. 15. A man assaulted a woman in a laundry business and threatened to stick her with a hypodermic needle contaminated with HIV. He chased her onto a sidewalk, then ripped her pants while trying to grab her keys. A bystander chased the man away. Police arrested a 28-year-old Glen Burnie man found in the community.

ROBBERIES

ADDISON DR., 2:33 p.m. Aug. 18. A woman was grabbed and forced into a blue car by a male relative. Her aunt called police. An alert was broadcast, and the vehicle was stopped a short time later. The man was charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment, second-degree assault and giving a false statement to police. In addition, the man and two juvenile occupants of the car were charged with paraphernalia possession. The car and cash were seized. No injuries were reported.

AMERICANA CIR., 7800 block, 2:26 p.m. Aug. 12. A man was struck in the face and robbed of cash during an altercation with two men, one armed with a knife. The robbers fled into an apartment complex.

PHIRNE RD., 9 p.m. Aug. 13. Two males robbed a male pedestrian of a cell phone and a cigarette lighter.

CRAIN CT., 1-100 block, 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 15. Jewelry and drugs were stolen from a residence entered through an unlocked door.

FOREST ST., 1-100 block, Aug. 10. A motorcycle was stolen from a residence entered by forcing a door. An 18-year-old man was arrested.

HAROLD CT., 8100 block, 5 p.m. Aug. 8 to 11 a.m. Aug. 9. Furniture was stolen from a residence. There was no sign of forced entry.

PINEY ORCHARD PKWY., 8300 block, 7:04 a.m. Aug. 13. Three males wearing clothing over their faces entered a restaurant. One took money from a cash register while a second robbed customers of wallets at gunpoint. The third robber watched the business entrance. The robbers fled in a brown and tan GMC truck. A short time later, police recovered the truck at the Odenton Train Station. The truck had been reported stolen in July, and the tags on it belonged to a passenger car.

ROBBERIES

FORT SMALLWOOD RD., 8400 block, 10:52 p.m. Aug. 14. A man accompanied by a woman entered a store, walked around a counter and assaulted a female clerk. The man then took cash from a cash register. The clerk escaped and called police. The couple fled in a blue car.

MOUNTAIN RD., 2300 block, 3:47 a.m. Aug. 16. Four males entered a pool hall and robbed nine people of cash and other property. Six victims were forced to lie on the floor and the other three were told to enter a closet. One robber, wearing thick glasses and a Ravens jersey, had a machine gun. The other three robbers wore black masks, and one carried a handgun.

ASSAULTS

MARBLE ARCH DRIVE AND EDWARD RAYNOR BOULEVARD, 12:49 a.m. Aug. 19. Police received a report about a dark van near a carnival occupied by several males with weapons. Police stopped a van on Fort Smallwood Road, arrested three 14-year-old boys and recovered three Air-Soft BB rifles and a BB pistol. The weapons resembled assault rifles and a handgun. The driver was charged with fleeing and eluding, driving without a license and several other traffic charges.
