ASSAULTS

BETHESDA AVE., 4800 block, 4 p.m. July 31. A man accosted a Washington girl, 16, from behind while she was reading on a patio of a store, fondled her breasts, then fled.

ROBBERIES

BRADLEY BOULEVARD AND HILLANDALE ROAD, 10:45 p.m. Aug. 11. A male grabbed a Chevy Chase girl, 15, accompanied by friends and attempted to rob her of a purse. One of the girl's female friends hit the robber and he fled.

SINGLETON DR., 9800 block, 11:40 p.m. Aug. 14. Two males in a van pulled next to a car of a Bethesda woman, 24, and one of the males got out, demanded cash and threatened to shoot her. The robber reached into the car, grabbed her purse, and fled in the van.

UNIVERSITY BLVD., 3700 block, 8:30 a.m. Aug. 10. A male implied he was armed with a knife and robbed a store employee of a deposit bag.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

MONTGOMERY LANE, 4800 block, 6 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 8. A bike was stolen from a garage.

SEXUAL ASSAULTS

GERMANTOWN AREA, 1:30 p.m. Aug. 17. A man entered an apartment and demanded cash from a woman, 20, who had awakened to find him in the residence. The woman said she had none and the man took her to a bedroom and sexually assaulted her.

GERMANTOWN AREA, 2 p.m. Aug. 9. A boy, 17, and a man, 18, sexually assaulted a Germantown girl, 17, and a Gaithersburg girl, 16, in two separate incidents.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

ANDERSON RD., 3500 block, 8 a.m. to 2:29 p.m. Aug. 10. A computer and jewelry were stolen from a residence entered by forcing open a door.

AUTO PARK AVE., 10400 block, 8:20 p.m. Aug. 6 to 8:58 a.m. Aug. 7. Property was stolen from a business entered by forcing open a door.

BETHESDA CHURCH RD., 9800 block, 11:50 a.m. to 12:16 p.m. Aug. 9. Cash, electronic equipment and jewelry were stolen from a residence.

CRYSTAL HILL CIR., 20700 block, 1:30. to 9:30 p.m. Aug. 10. A laptop computer was stolen from a residence.

PANTHERS RIDGE DR., 12000 block, 7 p.m. July 27 to 7 a.m. Aug. 4. Computers and crystal figurines were stolen from a residence.

RIDGECREST DR., 12500 block, 5 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 10. Two Chihuahuas were stolen.

SHORE HARBOR DR., 20400 block, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Aug. 10. Cash and a TV were stolen from a residence.

SEXUAL ASSAULTS

MONTGOMERY COUNTY AREA, July 23. A juvenile male patient, 17, at a hospital sexually assaulted a boy, 14.

ASSAULTS

BAY LEAF WAY, 18600 block, 11:46 a.m. Aug. 15. A Gaithersburg man saw a gunman inside a residence and banged on a window, which shattered and cut his arm. The gunman confronted the man outside the residence, threatened him and fired a single round into the air. The man ran toward a parking lot and the gunman pointed the gun at him and fired numerous shots in his direction.

ROBBERIES

CLUB HOUSE ROAD, 3:15 p.m. Aug. 9. A male asked a Gaithersburg man at a bus stop for a dollar. The man pulled out cash and two other males arrived and punched the man in the lip. The first male grabbed the money and the robbers fled.

MONTGOMERY VILLAGE MIDDLE SCHOOL, 12:30 a.m. Aug. 12. Two males accosted a Gaithersburg boy, 15, crossing a field and one of them punched the boy in the face and robbed him of cash, a cell phone and house keys.

RUSSELL AVE., 200 block, 1 to 100 block, 1:06 a.m. Aug. 11. Two males robbed a Germantown woman, 37, of a wallet and a backpack. Two Gaithersburg men, both age 22, were charged with robbery.

SHADY GROVE ROAD AND TRAVILLE GATEWAY DRIVE, 10:20 p.m. Aug. 10. A male accosted a Potomac woman, 55, forced her to the ground and grabbed her pocket book containing cash and a cell phone. The woman sustained cuts to her elbow and hand.

WATKINS MILL AND CLUB HOUSE ROADS, 10:30 p.m. Aug. 13. Three males accosted a Montgomery Village man, 50, and one of the males hit him in the back of the head with an unidentified object, then robbed him of a wallet, a cell phone and a set of keys.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

LOST KNIFE CIR., 18300 block, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 9. A video game system and games was stolen from a residence.

MAPLE AVE., 200 block, 9 a.m. Aug. 8 to noon Aug. 10. A residence was entered by forcing open a door. Nothing was reported missing.

SHADY SPRING DR., 8200 block, 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 14. Cash was stolen from a residence entered by forcing open a door.

SPRING ST., 1 to 100 block, 10 p.m. Aug. 12 to 5:25 a.m. Aug. 13. Keys and vehicles were stolen from a residence.

WHETSTONE DR., 1 to 100 block, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Aug. 8. A residence was entered by forcing open a door. Nothing was reported missing.

SEXUAL ASSAULTS

ROCKVILLE AREA, July 28. A Rockville girl, 13, had consensual sex with an adult male acquaintance.

ROCKVILLE PIKE, July 29. A Silver Spring woman, 29, in a store fell asleep and woke up to find a male lying unclothed next to her.

ROBBERIES

CHADWICK LANE, 14200 block, 9 p.m. Aug. 4. A male entered a front door of a residence, accosted a Rockville woman, 50, placed a knife to her neck and grabbed her purse.

ROCKVILLE PIKE, 11100 block, 4:45 p.m. Aug. 16. Two males in a store ordered a store manager, a salesman and two customers at gunpoint into a bathroom and tied them up with duct tape. They then took two TVs with a stand and speakers.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

JOSEPH MILL RD., 11700 block, 7:30 p.m. Aug. 11 to 5:45 a.m. Aug. 12. Computers were stolen from a school.

YEARLING TER., 14700 block, noon Aug. 5 to 2 p.m. Aug. 6. A residence was entered by breaking a door. Nothing was reported missing.

SEXUAL ASSAULTS

SILVER SPRING AREA, Aug. 2. A man, 17, made threats to young female acquaintance and her sister, 14, then engaged in a sexual intercourse with him.

SILVER SPRING AREA, Aug. 10. A Wheaton male in a hotel room raped and assaulted a female acquaintance, 19, of Rockville.

ASSAULTS

LOCKWOOD DR., 11400 block, noon Aug. 12. A man outside an apartment building brandished a utility knife at a police officer, refused to drop the knife and advanced toward the officer. The man, 25, of Adelphi, was shot in the chest. First aid was administered and the man was flown to a local trauma center. The man was pronounced dead two hours later.

PINEY BRANCH RD., 8500 block, 3:49 p.m. Aug. 9. A Hyattsville man, 22, was charged Aug. 9 with first- and second-degree assault in connection with an incident at the above location.

ROBBERIES

LOFT LANE, 12400 block, 5:50 a.m. Aug. 12. A man entered a residence, held a knife to the throat of a female resident, 32, who had been sleeping and robbed her of cash and an ATM card. The woman was treated for injuries.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

CASTLE BOULEVARD, Aug. 9. A Silver Spring youth, 17, was charged Aug. 9 with fourth-degree burglary in connection with an incident at the above location.

COUNTRYSIDE DR., 2500 block, 11 a.m. to 6:11 p.m. Aug. 10. Cash, clothing and watches were stolen from a residence entered by forcing open a door.

DUNOON RD., 1100 block, 8 a.m. Aug. 9 to 3 p.m. Aug. 12. Property was stolen from a residence entered by forcing open a door.

FALCONWOOD PL., 4200 block, 1:30 to 7:30 a.m. Aug. 8. A residence was entered by breaking a window. Nothing was reported missing.

BLUERIDGE MANOR AREA, Aug. 17. A Wheaton man, 25, was charged Aug. 17 with second-degree rape.

ROBBERIES

GEORGIA AVE., 13800 block, 11:30 p.m. Aug. 16. A vehicle occupied by two males struck a deliveryman's car in the rear. One of the males got out of the vehicle, approached the deliveryman's window and robbed him of cash at gunpoint.

AMHERST AVE., 10800 block, 10 a.m. July 3 to 7:15 p.m. Aug. 5. Electronic equipment was stolen from a residence entered by forcing open a door.

CHERRY AVE., 6900 block, 3:30 p.m. Aug. 13 to 9:30 a.m. Aug. 14. Property was stolen from a house under construction entered by breaking a window.
