Music of a Gospel

To celebrate its 25th anniversary, Toby's Dinner Theatre in Columbia is presenting "Godspell." Based on the Gospel according to St. Matthew, the play brings parables of the Bible to life through rock, folk, gospel and Broadway music. The production is directed by the theater's founder, Toby Orenstein. Doors open at 6 p.m. Tuesdays-Saturdays, 5 p.m. Sundays, and 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays and Sundays for brunch and matinee performances. Runs through Sept. 26. Rock With the Kid

Rap-rocker Kid Rock will perform next Thursday in Columbia as part of his national concert tour. The Detroit native has received an American Music Award, several Billboard Music Video awards and a Grammy nomination. Gates open at 6 p.m., and the concert begins at 7:30.
