The Loudoun County School Board will set boundaries in the coming school year for four elementary schools opening in 2005 and a middle school opening in 2007.

The new elementary schools are Newton-Lee, in the Belmont Country Club subdivision; Legacy, in Brambleton; Pinebrook, in Kirkpatrick Farms; and Sycolin Creek, which will be built in Leesburg at a location that will be determined. The middle school, now designated MS-4, will be in Loudoun Valley Estates.

In addition, the School Board will survey potential students for Briar Woods and Freedom high schools in October to see how many current sophomores and juniors wish to remain at their school. These schools are scheduled to open for the 2005-2006 school year. Survey results will be presented to the School Board on Nov. 9, with possible action on Nov. 30.
