Montgomery County officials have planned several events in coming days to remember local victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.
At 8:30 a.m. Saturday, County Executive Douglas M. Duncan will join relatives of the 11 county residents who died at the Pentagon to observe a moment of silence at the county's Sept. 11 memorial at Courthouse Square Park, at Maryland Avenue and Jefferson Street in downtown Rockville.
On Sept. 21, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra will perform a free Salute to Heroes concert. It will begin at 7 p.m. on the lawn at Strathmore Hall, 10701 Rockville Pike in North Bethesda.
Children's Health Clinic
Free immunizations and lead screening for children will be offered from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Dennis Avenue Health Center, 2000 Dennis Ave. in Silver Spring.
There will be free immunizations for children 18 and younger as well as lead screening for children 6 and younger.
There will also be blood pressure screening, body fat analysis and dental/oral health screenings available. Activities for children will be offered throughout the day.

County residents who want to vote in the Nov. 2 election must register by 9 p.m. Oct. 12.
Applications for the general election may be obtained by calling the Voter Information Service at 240-777-VOTE (8683) until Oct. 5. Applications are also available at county libraries, regional services centers, post offices and the Motor Vehicle Administration.

Energy Assistance Expo
Residents seeking help with their energy bills will be able to submit applications at an Energy Assistance Expo from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sept. 17 at the Gwendolyn Coffield Community Center, 2450 Lyttonsville Rd. in Silver Spring.
Applications will be taken for a variety of energy assistance programs, including the Electric Universal Service Program, the Energy Assistance Program and the Weatherization Assistance Program. In addition, applications will be taken for the county's Rental Assistance Program and Child Care Subsidy Programs.
Those attending should bring photo identification, Social Security cards for all household members, lease or mortgage statement, proof of income from the past 30 days and recent energy bills.
