UNIVERSITY BLVD. W., 3400 block, 9:26 p.m. Aug. 22. Two gunmen got out of a silver vehicle and robbed two female pedestrians, ages 25 and 55, of cash. The robbers drove a short distance, then robbed three more pedestrians.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

BELLEVUE DR., 9600 block, 7 a.m. to 3:51 p.m. Aug. 18. Jewelry and computers were stolen from a residence entered by breaking a front door.

FLANDEIS AVE., 5000 block, 8:05 p.m. Aug. 17 to 1 p.m. Aug. 18. An attempt was made to enter a residence by twisting a doorknob. Nothing was reported missing.

HEATHERHILL CT., 7300 block, noon Aug. 15 to 1 p.m. Aug. 19. A residence was entered by climbing through a side window. Nothing was reported missing.

SEXUAL ASSAULTS

GERMANTOWN AREA, Aug. 26. A girl, 4, reported that a boy, 9, sexually assaulted her July 30 while she playing with an acquaintance, the boy's female relative, at the acquaintance's residence.

GERMANTOWN AREA, Aug. 19. A girl, 8, reported that a boy, 12, sexually assaulted her.

ASSAULTS

CLOPPER AND LIBERTY MILL ROADS AREA, 8 p.m. Aug. 21. An 18-year-old Boyds man was found with a stab wound in his lower chest. He was taken by helicopter to a hospital to be treated for injuries.

ROBBERIES

FREDERICK RD., 19700 block, 7:57 p.m. Aug. 23. A gunman and a man armed with a wooden stick and a metal pole in a back parking lot robbed a 36-year-old man of cash. They fled with approximately five other people.

SPARKLING WATER DR., 18700 block, 10:30 p.m. Aug. 18. Five boys accosted a Germantown man, 43, as he waited for a taxi. One boy demanded cash and the others kicked and beat the man, who then gave them cash. The robbers fled.

APPLEDOWRE WAY, 11300 block, 3:15 p.m. Aug. 19 to 7 p.m. Aug. 23. Computer equipment was stolen from a residence entered by climbing through a window.

BENT WILLOW CIR., 18800 block, 10:30 a.m. to 8:28 p.m. A residence was entered by forcing a door frame. Nothing was reported missing.

SEXUAL ASSAULTS

DERWOOD AREA, Aug. 23. A man in his residence entered a girl's bedroom between Sept. 1, 2003 and June 30 and touched the girl, 13, inappropriately.

GAITHERSBURG AREA, May 1 to Aug. 10. A male former manager of a fast-food restaurant sexually assaulted a girl, 16, at the restaurant.

MONTGOMERY VILLAGE AREA, Aug. 17. A woman reported that a female relative, 12, had been sexually assaulted twice by another relative's male acquaintance.

ROBBERIES

CHRISTOPHER AVE., 400 block, 9 p.m. Aug. 25. A man with a white bandana on his face and armed with a sawed-off shotgun pointed the weapon through a front passenger window and robbed a pizza delivery person of cash and a car key.

CONEFLOWER WAY, 8200 block, 10:40 p.m. Aug. 22. Several males punched a pizza deliveryman until he was able to break away from them. Nothing was reported taken.

CONTOUR ROAD AT COPPS HILL DRIVE, 11:20 p.m. Aug. 24. A man armed with a shotgun robbed a 32-year-old pedestrian of his wallet.

FLOWER HILL WAY, 18200 block, Aug. 21. A Gaithersburg youth was charged with first and second degree assault and destruction of property in connection with an incident at a nail salon at the above location.

METROPOLITAN GROVE, 1 to 100 block, 12:30 p.m. Aug. 25. A gunman got out of a white Toyota Celica with Virginia tags and robbed a 26-year-old Mount Rainier man of cash.

SNOUFFER SCHOOL RD., 8000 block, 12:34 a.m. Aug. 26. Two masked men robbed a convenience store of cash at gunpoint.

STREAMSIDE DR., 18300 block, 12:10 a.m. Aug. 26. A gunman robbed a 27-year-old man of his wallet as the man was checking his car, then fled with another person who was waiting nearby.

WESTLAND DR. N., 8900 block, 5:47 a.m. Aug. 22. A gunman posing as a customer in a convenience store punched a store clerk after the clerk opened a register and grabbed cash from it.

An 18-year-old Gaithersburg man was charged with fourth-degree burglary and possession of two deadly weapons, and a Gaithersburg boy was charged with fourth-degree burglary, trespassing and conspiracy to commit burglary in connection with an incident at the above location.

HUMMINGBIRD TER., 9200 block, Aug. 25. A 48-year-old man, of no fixed address, was charged with first-degree burglary and second-degree assault in connection with an incident at the above location.

PINE CREST AREA, 3:22 p.m. Aug. 15. A man in a silver sedan motioned for a girl participating in a charity carwash to come to his car. As she approached the car, the man exposed himself.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS

HUNGERFORD DR., 300 block, 1:07 a.m. Aug. 27. An officer stopped a vehicle for a suspected traffic violation and found the vehicle had been reported stolen. A 25-year-old Herndon man was charged with motor vehicle theft.

LAUREL AVE., 6900 block, 9:03 a.m. Aug. 27. A masked man in front of a store implied he had a weapon and forced a female store owner into the store as she unlocked a front door. The assailant took cash from a register, from the owner's purse and from the purses of two employees, then shut them into a large freezer and fled. No one was injured.

LINDEN AVE., 1100 block, 12:24 a.m. Sept. 1. A gunman robbed a male cab driver and his female passenger of cash as they sat in the cab at the woman's requested destination.

CARROLL AVE., 7000 block, 12:01 to 7:17 a.m. Aug. 27. An attempt was made to enter a business by breaking a front door glass.
