* Reggie Berry, Potomac: On a team with three 300-plus-pounders and standouts in seniors Gus Parrish and Brandon Jackson, the 6-foot-2, 262-pound Berry might seem undersized or overshadowed. But he made his presence felt with four sacks in the Wolverines' 35-0 victory over Central. Coach Eric Knight said Berry -- who also plays for the school's basketball team -- is agile and fundamentally sound.
"He couldn't be blocked," Knight said.
Potomac held Central to minus-89 yards of total offense, Knight said, allowing only two first downs (both on penalties) and six plays for positive yardage.
* Anthony Herbin, Gwynn Park: The 5-foot-7, 140-pound wide receiver returned the opening kickoff 89 yards for a touchdown and also had a 50-yard touchdown catch in the second quarter -- the Yellow Jackets' only pass completion of the game -- in a 41-13 rout of Friendly.
* Brandon McRae, C.H. Flowers: The senior rushed for 150 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries in a 52-0 rout of Baltimore school Edmondson. McRae scored on a 45-yard touchdown run and had two 10-yard touchdown runs -- all in the second quarter -- as Flowers scored 27 points to take a 33-0 halftime lead.
* Trevin Parrish, Pallotti: The junior rushed 19 times for 153 yards and three touchdowns -- all in the second half -- as the Panthers won at Southern-Garrett, 36-18.
