Abuse charges: A Leesburg man has been charged with sexually abusing girls at a privately run home for troubled teenagers in Fairfax County, police said yesterday.

Henri de Carlo, 40, of the 2800 block of Fort Evans Road NE had worked at the home for two years, police said. They declined to identify the home.

Three girls between 14 and 17 came forward recently to allege the misconduct, which they said occurred between June and August. De Carlo surrendered to police Thursday and was charged with three counts of taking indecent liberties with a minor, police said. He was released on an unsecured bond.

Shooter at large: A 44-year-old Prince George's County man was fatally shot late Thursday during what police said was an apparent robbery.
