Christmas Tree Brochure

The Loudoun County Department of Economic Development is seeking listings for its annual Christmas in the Loudoun Valleys brochure. The brochure lists local Christmas tree growers with locations, hours and trees available, as well as other holiday items such as wreaths, roping, poinsettias and decorations that are grown or made on Loudoun farms. Small-Business Seminars

The Loudoun County Small Business Development Center will offer a "Start Your Business" presentation from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. Beth Hain, a small-business specialist, will lead participants through the steps to starting a small business. Terry Corle, a marketing and insurance specialist, will give 21 marketing tips and discuss the types of insurance needed for small businesses. Highlights will include taxes, licensing, accounting and record keeping, business-plan development, sources of financing, marketing and insurance. An open discussion will follow. Next Thursday, the center will offer a seminar from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. titled "How to Get Small Business Financing With as Little Pain as Possible," led by Norman Hecht, vice president of First Horizon Bank. Topics will cover what a good loan package contains, the five C's of credit, criteria lenders use to evaluate a loan, how the bank decision process works and four steps to avoid problems. Chamber's Monthly Mixer

The Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly after-hours mixer from 5:30 to 7 p.m. tonight at Hampton Inn & Suites, 117 Fort Evans Rd., Leesburg.

Sessions on Procurement

Loudoun County's procurement division will hold four buyer-seller information exchange sessions to give area businesses an opportunity to meet the county's procurement staff and become familiar with the procurement process.

The sessions will be held at 2 p.m. today, 10:30 a.m. Oct. 12, 2 p.m. Nov. 17 and 10:30 a.m. Dec. 14. The sessions will be held in the Lovettsville Room on the first floor of the County Government Center, 1 Harrison St. SE, Leesburg.

Fitness Center for Children
