ASSAULTS

HIGHLAND ST., 7200 block, 12:45 a.m. Aug. 5. Several people in a car drove by a group of men and boys standing in front of a residence. A bullet was fired from the car, striking a 16-year-old youth in the foot. The youth's friends took him to a hospital. The incident was a possible gang-related shooting, police said.

ROBBERIES

FRANCONIA RD., 6100 block, 7 p.m. Sept. 5. A masked gunman robbed a service station of cash and fled on foot. No injuries were reported.

FRONTIER DR., 6600 block, 8:30 p.m. Sept. 7. A man with a weapon tucked into his pants demanded cash from a female clerk in a shop. The clerk gave him cash, and he ordered her to lie on the floor while he fled.

HECHINGER DR., 6900 block, 8:30 p.m. Sept. 8. A man with a handgun demanded cash from a 19-year-old man walking to his car. The victim fought with the robber, and a second man started assaulting him. The men took items from the victim, then fled in a gray Oldsmobile, which reportedly ran over the victim. The victim drove himself to a hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

LEESBURG PIKE, 5900 block, 7:50 p.m. Sept. 6. Several males attacked two 15-year-old males, striking one with a bottle. One injured youth was treated at a hospital for a cut on his arm. The other reportedly received minor injuries. A 22-year-old Falls Church man was charged with malicious wounding and illegal gang participation. A 17-year-old Falls Church area youth was charged as a juvenile with malicious wounding and illegal gang participation.

BEAUREGARD ST., 4800 block, 9 p.m. Sept. 6. An employee of a fast-food restaurant found a man stealing cash from an office. The employee shouted, and the man fled through a back door..

TYSONS CORNER CENTER, 6:30 p.m. Sept. 9. Police identified a 2001 Toyota Camry parked at the mall as stolen. Two officers approached the car after two men returned to it. When one man drove the car, he put it in reverse and struck a police vehicle. He then crashed into a parked car and drove away. With police in pursuit, the driver lost control and crashed into a guardrail on an Interstate 495 ramp. An 18-year-old Falls Church man was charged with grand theft, resisting arrest, destruction of property, speeding to elude and hit and run. A 19-year-old man of no fixed address was charged with grand theft.

ROBBERIES

PINE SPRING RD., 2800 block, 3 p.m. Sept. 3. A male forced a 12-year-old boy off a bike and rode away on it. No injuries were reported. The next day, the victim and his mother saw the male and called police. An 18-year-old Falls Church area man was charged with robbery and possession of alcohol by a person under age 21.

GRAPE HOLLY GROVE, 14300 block, 9:30 p.m. Sept. 1. A man stole a vehicle while the owner was taking a break from working on it. Police saw the vehicle, and it crashed into a guardrail on an exit ramp onto Interstate 66. The robber, who fled on foot, was found nearby by a K-9 officer. A 23-year-old District man was charged with grand theft, possession of burglary tools and hit and run.

INDECENT EXPOSURE

PLANTATION PKWY., 3300 block, 7:20 p.m. Sept. 4. A woman saw a nude male standing near a creek, masturbating. The woman went home and called police. A 53-year-old man of no fixed address was charged with indecent exposure and public drunkenness.

ASSAULTS

BEVAN DR., 3700 block, Sept. 5. A soccer player punched an opposing player in the face during a game at a park. The injured player was treated at a hospital.

DEMOCRACY LANE, 10300 block, 3:50 p.m. Sept. 7. A female juvenile threw a cell phone at a female acquaintance. A 14-year-old Burke girl was charged with assault.

OLD LEE HWY., 3200 block, 6 p.m. Sept. 5. A man made insulting statements to two people who were placing groceries into their car. The man then shoved one of them and struck the other in the head. A witness was assaulted when he attempted to intervene. Police searched the area and arrested a 52-year-old Burke man and charged him with public drunkenness, misdemeanor assault and felony assault. The victims reportedly did not need medical treatment.

PICKETT RD.,3900 block, 9:38 p.m. Sept. 2. A male stranger punched another male in the face at a business, then fled.

OLD LEE HWY., 3200 block, 8:30 p.m. Aug. 31. Two employees allegedly stole items from a rear loading dock of a store. A 21-year-old Alexandria man and a 24-year-old Woodbridge man were charged with petty theft.

OLD PICKETT RD., 3200 block, Sept. 6 to Sept. 7. Four aluminum rims were stolen from a van parked at a business.

PICKETT RD., 3900 block, 8 a.m. Aug. 31. A cell phone was taken after it was left on the counter in a fast-food restaurant.

RUST RD., 4100 block, 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 6. A red Tomos moped was stolen from a yard of a residence.

TROWBRIDGE COURT, 10500 block, and TROWBRIDGE STREET, 4200 block, Sept. 3. Police were called about two people near homes. An investigation revealed that the two had attempted to enter two residences. A 28-year-old Maryland woman and a 24-year-old Centreville man were charged with attempted breaking and entering.

OAK ST., 3900 block, 6:30 p.m. Sept. 3. A person borrowed a gold 1997 Ford Taurus from an acquaintance and did not return it.

DULLES PARK CT., 600 block, 12:08 a.m. Sept. 3. A person struck an acquaintance.

ELDEN ST., 1100 block, 7:12 p.m. Sept. 3. A man assaulted a person. A 33-year-old Herndon man was charged with assault, trespassing and public drunkenness.

ELDEN ST., 1200 block, 12:21 a.m. Sept. 4. A man assaulted a person. A 39-year-old Maryland man was charged with assault, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.

ELDEN ST., 400 block, 10:29 a.m. Aug. 31. A wallet was stolen from a purse, and a credit card from the wallet was used.

HERNDON WOODS CT., 700 block, midnight, Sept. 2. License plates were stolen from a vehicle.

JONQUIL LANE, 100 block, 2:43 p.m. Sept. 2. A man took water from a fire hydrant without a town meter. A 33-year-old Alexandria man was charged with theft.

SPRING KNOLL DR., 800 block, 7 p.m. Sept. 5. A bicycle was stolen from a driveway.

SPRING ST., 100 block, 12:06 p.m. Sept. 4. Cash was stolen.

MAPLE AVE. E., 300 block, 3:30 p.m. Sept. 4. A leather bag was stolen from an unlocked vehicle at a business.

MAPLE AVE. W., 100 block, 8:45 p.m. Sept. 6. A man attempted to pass a fraudulent prescription at a pharmacy. A 38-year-old Reston man was charged with prescription fraud.

PATRICK ST. SW, 200 block, 11:30 p.m. Sept. 1 to 6 a.m. Sept. 2. Cash was stolen from an unlocked vehicle at a residence.

PLUM ST. SW, 300 block, 1:30 p.m. Aug. 31 to 12:30 p.m. Sept. 1. A generator was stolen from an unlocked shed at a residence.
