Runners to Watch

BOYS

SCOTT GAYER, Wilde Lake, Sr.: Placed fourth at the county championships and 3A East Region meet last season and 41st at the state meet.

BRIAN HARVEY, Centennial, Sr.: Placed third at the county championships to help his team to a second-place finish. Third at the 3A East Region meet and 15th in the Maryland 3A championships.

GARRETT MAXSON, Glenelg, Sr.: After finishing 15th at the county championships, won the 2A South Region title. Was 22nd at the state meet.

ANDREW REVELLE, Atholton, Soph.: Placed fifth at Howard County Striders Invitational in 17 minutes 39.82 seconds.

JESSE ROWHER, Centennial, Sr.: The Eagles' No. 2 runner last season was sixth in the 3A East Region and eighth at the county championships.

GIRLS

ALISON SMITH, Atholton, Soph: Last season's All-County runner of the year won the county and 2A South Region titles and took second at the state meet.

ANNE CUNNINGHAM, River Hill, Jr.: Her fifth-place finish at the county championships helped her team to the county title. Also placed fourth at the 3A East Region meet and 22nd at the state meet.

JESSICA HIBBERT, Glenelg, Sr.: Placed second at the county championships and third at the 2A South Region meet. Finished 11th at the state meet to help her team to its first state title.

SARAH LANCOS, Centennial, Sr.: Took sixth at the 3A East Region meet, ninth in the county championships and 21st at the state meet.

LIZ McCARTER, Mount Hebron, Soph.: Stellar freshman season included victories at the Westminster Invitational, Howard County Invitational and 3A East Region meet before placing 41st at the state meet.
