Driving Hot Spots
Here is a selection of road advisories. Weather and equipment availability can affect timing.
1. Wisconsin Avenue NW:
Northbound traffic limited to one lane between M and K streets daily for six months. Southbound traffic will be detoured to 29th, 30th and 31st streets.
2. I-270 West Spur:
Left lane closed 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday between the Capital Beltway and Westlake Terrace.
3. Largo Road:
Right lane closed 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday between 75th Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Highway.
4. East West Highway:
Right lane closed in each direction with a traffic signal 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday between Connecticut Avenue and Edgevale Street.
5. Piney Branch Road:
Right eastbound lane closed 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday between University Boulevard and New Hampshire Avenue.
6. Beltway (outer loop):
Left lane closed 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday between Route 50 and the Baltimore-Washington Parkway.
7. Beltway (both loops):
Two left lanes closed 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Wednesday through Friday from Livingston Road to Interstate 295.
8. I-295 south exit ramp to Route 210 south:
Alternating lanes closed 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
9. Route 210 north exit ramp to I-295 north:
Alternating lanes closed 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
10. Washington Street, Alexandria:
Alternating lane closures in both directions 9:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Monday through Friday between Church and South Alfred streets.
11. Springfield interchange:
Various lane closures 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 9 a.m. to noon Fridays.

Tip of the Week
Beginning Sept. 27, Metrorail service will start at 5 a.m. Stations will open 10 minutes before the first train leaves.
